Wanted : experts on earth’s geography
I’ve almost finished my maxiworld map of 229x143. I would like the opinion of a few good geographers. It has taken me forever to make it and I don’t need no useless, Pacific is too small or why is this country so big, comments. It is based on the original civ2 world map and has its advantages and its inconvenient.
What I would like is precise comments, like on 132-210, tundra would be more appropriate. If someone is willing to do that, thanks in advance. I could send the beta-version of the map on the 1st of January.

Yes, it is still time. I haven't finished yet. Ah, those holidays when you do something else than playing civ ...
I'm going to give it a shot tomorrow morning, if everything goes well.
Sorry, some more patience please.

Yes, it is finished, at last. (I started the maxiworld map in September !!!)
Stefan, Mike and Sun Tzu, I’ve send it to you. I’m eagerly waiting for your comments, although I cannot guarantee I will follow your advices. I want my map to look both nice and real. Besides, the real world looks nice, doesn’t he.
I ask you not to diffuse this map because it not the definite version. Later on, I will submit the DV in the Apolyton Forum and, Sun Tzu, if you want you could put it on your Civfanatics site too.
I’ve added more precise comments in my mail.
Thanks for your help.

You're the guys I've been looking for. I've taught myself to make good maps through the MapEditor, but I need to learn some refinements. I'm sure I'm doing some of it the hard way. It took me forever to figure out how to get all the Civs available on the map, yet grouped tightly by location.

I have a lot of questions to ask!

Do you guys try to account for the climatic effects of oceans and mountains when deciding on terrain tile by tile? Jungles where rain is likliest (or swamp in more northern climes)? Desert on rain shadows?
