Bio:

Born 2312 at Sparta Command on the planet Chiron to the son of Karl Kessel who was Colonel Santiago‘s third in command. He singled out at early age to be trained in Sparta’s mobile rover units.

Kessel entered official service at the age of 12 by skipping the enlisted academy and entering directly into the Spartan War College. Kessel received high marks both in academics and in physical leadership. Kessel graduated from the Spartan War College in 2330 tied for the top mark in his class. As was tradition when this occurred , the two individuals fought hand to hand for the title and honor of high achiever. After two hours of fighting the Commandant of the War College called a halt to the fighting and proclaimed both men high achievers.

Kessel spent the next ten years in a rover regiment learning the ins and outs of Spartan military life. He fought in the Hive wars near the later half of the century always staying in the elite mobile rover units. Transferred to special operations in 2399, Kessel became a member of Sparta’s first all environment Marine unit. In 2401, Kessel’s unit participated in the attacks on the Morgan/University space station that gained Sparta two FTL capable ships.

Kessel was selected to be among the vanguard soldiers sent ahead to scout new planets for future colonization. After two years of searching, Kessel and his scouting party landed on Planet S-67 orbiting around the distant star Symra. Two years later Spartan colonist began arriving on the new planet officially named Sparta Prime. By 2450, the last of the Spartans left Chiron for the new planets.

In 2460 Karl Kessel was killed while on a covert mission to Peacekeeper territory. Marcus Kessel was recalled to Sparta Command to take a position in the Spartan Central Command. He was promoted to full Major and put on the list for more regular regeneration treatments.

In the 2480, Kessel was appointed military governor of Tyndareus (second planet in the Syrma system) and was given the task of turning the jungle planet into a major component of the Spartan system. Jungle was cleared, roads and magtubes were laid, and population centers were planned at the direction of Kessel. By 2500 Kessel had brought Tyndereaus up to the standard of Sparta Prime. Soon long lists of citizens wanting to relocate on Tydereaus swamped the central governors office. Colonel Santiago looked on with an approving eye.

In 2518 Kessel was given command of Spartan Marines as the Bree war flared up. Beginning in 2521, Kessel’s marines fought the Bree soldiers across three planets. The marines were able to hold back the Bree long enough for a combined Spartan and Drone fleet to relieve them. With the help of Sparta’s new ally the Spartan fleet and Marines successfully fougth the Bree until 2468 when hostilities ended.

Through 2611, Kessel served Colonel Santiago as her eyes and ears with local military commanders. Kessel logged countless hours in space traveling to meet local commanders and to be the visible symbol of Colonel Santiago’s continued power.

After the failure of Spartan forces to hold Coventry, Kessel spearheaded the weeding out of older ineffective military commanders. Most were forced into retirement and some were court-martialed for incompetence

Lady Deirdre Skye

The Gaians are a futuristic democracy. Lady Deirdre Skye is still the elected leader, with her physical body lying within a giant organic computer in an oh so secret location and a copy of her mind residing in the mainframe of the Skye Tower on the Gaian homeworld of Artilak. This mind is a perfect copy but develops independently of the dormant physical brain of Deirdre in the computer.

Needless to say, for the most part, Deirdre is just a figure head to the Gaian administration as all decisions regarding Gaian policy, except to do with Universal Gaia Theory are made by a series of ministers.

The Top Bananas of Morgan Interstellar (First Part)

Nwabudike Morgan
President and CEO, Morgan Interstellar & Morgan Industries Combine

~ C.E.O. Nwabudike Morgan, the former Nambian diamond tycoon and CEO of Morgan Industries, now Morgan Interstellar. Though he is 500 years old, he has the money to get top-quality scientists to give him the best longevity vaccines. Born in 2005, Morgan gained his fame by selling weapons during the Sahara Burst Wars. He then became a hotel owner, and then bought several large diamond mines, founding Morgan Industries. He technically owned the Unity, as he had his own men build the ship and used his money to do so. His mind is still sharp, and his body is still in good condition. He makes all of the big decisions of Morgan Interstellar, but leaves the lesser decisions to his sub-ordinates. He is not as much a figure-head as some other ancient leaders, and like Zakharov still holds the keys in his faction.

~ Imran Siddiqui, Morgan's top advisor and second in control of Morgan Interstellar. He has also been kept alive on the longevity vaccines, and is Morgan's best friend. Siddiqui was born in 2018, son of an Arab millionaire from Iran. After receiving leg wounds from a mechanized infantry unit in the short-lived Oil Rebellion of 2038 while supporting the militaristic loyalist forces, who ultimately won. His father died the same year, and he (as the eldest son) inherited the business, a small oil company, and soon founded a large corporate empire through oil, and eventually sold it to the thriving Morgan Industries. He was smuggled aboard the Unity with Morgan himself. He is President of Morgan Interstellar. This means he makes the lesser decisions, although Morgan makes all extremely important ones.

~ T. H. Temple, quickly ascended corporate ladder of Morgan Interstellar to become one of the most trusted advisors of the CEO. Mr. Temple was actually born 150 years after Planetfall in Morgan Industries (the city itself), so he is one of the younger members of the Morgan Interstellar Board. He excelled in economics early on, and was one of Morgan's very best talents by the time he was voted into the Morganite advisor's board. He will become Morgan's right hand man. He is also the new President of the smaller Morgan Industries, which is a branch of Morgan Interstellar. It contains the Nessus and Alpha Centauri holdings as well as (eventually) the old Earth company.

Albert Marchand
General-In-Chief, Morganite Armies

~ Albert Marchand, commands Morgan's elite (though small) army. He was born in Morgan Solarflex 134 years after Planetfall in a militaristic family. His father was a militia captain in the city, and was quick to send his son to Spartan territory to learn the art of war. Albert got his fame through commanding the scout team that re-explored Chiron in the early 2600s. In this campaign, he defeated a small detachment of a scout team and a probe team under Datatech control and a mindworm attack from the Cult in two small skirmishes. He also engineered the exceptional defense of Morgan Mines during the Bree War. When the older General Maysfield died in 2632, Marchand was promoted to General-In-Chief by popular demand, as he was already a major hero to all of the common people and the well-to-do alike.

Tremaine, Henry Gerald (2643 - )
President of the Earth Coalition

Henry Tremaine, son of M.D. Richard and Chem. Engineer Julia Tremaine, was born in Glasgow, Europe (former Scotland) in the year 2643. Henry had an older sister, who passed away when Tremaine was two years old.
At the age of five, Henry attended the local public school at the suburbs of Glasgow. He grew up as an "intelligent" and "polite" young man, who, after second stage education, applied and was accepted to the faculty of Global Economics at Cambridge University. He graduated with good grades at the age of 23.
In 2665, Tremaine decided to join the Democratic Union of Earth, a right-wing party that at the time was in opposition, and favored open relations with other races and factions in Sol. In 2679, Tremaine was elected as a Regional Council member of Southern Scotland. The same year his father died to a heart attack.
In 2676, Tremaine married Gloria Hayworth, and in 2686 Gloria gave birth to Fiona Tremaine.
In 2684, with a landslide win, the DUE gained a large majority (176 out of 400) in the Earth Parliament. At this time Tremaine had achieved a prominent position as a member of DUE, and was appointed as the Minister of Economics, and the vice-prime minister after the Minister of Defence. Tremaine started to become a favorite political character amidst Earth population.
In 2693, the DUE candidate Darien Faloncé was elected president for second period.
In 2698, Faloncé announced that he was not going to rerun for a third period, as he had "personal problems", relating to the offworld colony Capella. Faloncé also told of plans to move to Terra Nova. Thus, a DUE meeting concluded that Henry Tremaine would be the DUE candidate opposing the Central Isolationist Party candidate Desdemona Skylark. Tremaine gained a full 59 % percent vote in the first round, and was directly elected as President.
In the beginning of the 28th Century, Tremaine is on the second year of his first five-year period as President. The President's powers are somewhat limited, but with a DUE Prime Minister and majority Parliament, it is predicted that Coalition will direct more of it's efforts into trading and conversing with other factions. But, not only peace is on their agenda, and more fund are being allocated to constructing new ships, especially the new Battlecruiser class that is expected to gain Terran Alliance a formidable momentum, as it is the first Terran ship utilizing Ion Cannon technology gained from the Scions.

Maxwell, Ethan:

Born Rotarua, New Zealand, Earth, 2010. A co-conspirator in Foreman Domai's drone uprising on the Unity, Maxwell was for many years the second man in the Free Drone faction. Stripped of his governmental position after the Civil War, he continued as a lobbyist and a voice for supporters of the old order. Sensationally elected to the Senate in the final phase of the Long-Term Plan; there he advocates many ideas characteristic of the Domai era, including anti-capitalism and the use of force to achieve national goals.

Adams, Kristy:

Born Free Drone Central, Chiron, 2555. Graduated from Galactic University in 2578; earned doctorate in political science in 2581, receiving special mention from the Vice Provost for her thesis, "The Effects of Religion on Politics Since the Fall of Earth". In 2589 became the youngest member of the Interim Council, representing the New Republic Party. Served as Ambassador to the Spartan Federation from 2603 to 2610. Chosen as leader of the New Republic Party in 2615. Elected President in 2632, promising economic prosperity and education reform.

Sorensen, Derek:

Born Anvil of Man, Chiron, 2499. Graduated from Galactic University in 2519; earned doctorate in astrophysics and advanced spatial mechanics in 2523. Taught these subjects at Galactic University between 2523 and 2531. Relocated to Vega Prime to study the ruins there in 2535. Widely regarded as the greatest scientist in Drone history.

Elise Drecaille is the Prime Minister of Coalition. The Prime Minister's powers are almost as great as the ones of the President, and co-operation of these two persons is vital to Earth goverment. The Prime Minister is selected to form the Cabinet by the president, and usually is the leader of his/her party, this time Democratic Union of Earth.

The Chairman of Coalition Parliament directs speech in the Parliament sessions, and holds a resoluting vote should the vote go even. The Chairman is usually a member of some other goverment party then the largest one, this time Economic Development of World party, a prominent supporter of InEn.

The Opposition is the element in the democracy of Earth that keeps the goverment awake. It usually makes proposals and even declares votes of non-confidency to be arranged, in order to gain support and possibly win the elections next time. Central Planetary Party has been in opposition for three elections in a row.
Desdemona Skylark, who ran in the presidential election opposing Henry Tremaine, is considered a very devious politician, and people expect her to do her best at questioning the current goverment.

Wakazashi, Michael Jonathan (2647 -)

Supreme Commanding Officer of Military Forces (COMF)

Michael Jonathan Wakazashi is the son of the renown Marine Commander Jonathan Croydon and Professor Aki Wakazashi. Croydon and Wakazashi divorced before the birth of Michael, and Croydon allowed Wakazashi to take custody of Michael, as long as he would be sent to the Melbourne School of Naval and Marine Operations (MSNMO), one of the most prestiged military schools on Earth aside with The Military Academy of Earth at South Africa and the Navy Education Centre in Canada.
And so it was done. In 2663 he attended the MSNMO, in the area of Naval Navigational Studies, and graduated as a full-fledged astronavigator in 2671. Then he continued to study becoming a fighter pilot, but soon dropped out and instead enlisted to serve as an Ensign in Nav Ops on a patrol scout ECS Camelot in Capella system. In 2675 he was promoted to the rank of Navigation Officer on the Camelot after performing outstanding service, and was promoted to Lieutenant.
In 2677, after six years in Capella, he was transferred to the task of 2nd Navigation Officer on a Cruiser set to guard the Rhea monitoring station on Saturn region. Soon after starting, a renown marauder group called Outlaws launched a strike there, perusing mostly old, out-of-date stolen and illegally purchased Terran hardware, but in rather good condition and large numbers. Five Cruiser class ships were forced to fend off a force three times larger.
After some exchange of fire, the Captain and First Officer of Stratford, the ship Wakazashi served at, were killed in a targeted shot to the bridge. Wakazashi quickly assumed command, set up a temporal bridge to Nav Ops and directed the fleet of five ships to the rings of Saturn.
With his increased tactical skills, and the ability to carefully formulate three dimensional patterns in his mind, he was able to co-ordinate a very effective counter-attack on the marauders. When reinforcements arrived, there were only three marauder ships remaining, and they surrendered immediately.
This act earned Wakazashi a Medal of Combat Excellency, and, once Stratford was repaired and remodified to a Heavy Cruiser, the post of and promotion to Captain. This happened in 2681.
Captain Wakazashi was issued the duties of trade convoy patrols through rather turbulent unaffiliated regions of space, from Earth to Gaians and Cyborgs. In these missions, Stratford and other Heavy Cruiser class vehicles sustained a perfect combat record, and Wakazashi was soon considered the Commanding Officer of the entire Protectionate Fleet 22.
This allowed Wakazashi to both hone his skills as co-ordinating efforts of several ships, an ability he had succesfully demonstrated before, and could gain valuable colleague friends, such as Cpt. Heline (Later on Admiral). Wakazashi also started to bear a fame of a great leader, and was even approached by some small political parties to act as a vote-attractor.
In 2692 it was time for another refit of Stratford, and Captain Wakazashi returned to Sol. He was presented a promotion to Admiral, after seventeen years of field service, eleven of them as a ship's captain.
And, as if this would of not been enough, his excellent career finally reached it's peak as in 2697 the former Commanding Officer of Military Forces, the highest-ranking military officer in Coalition, appointed Wakazashi as his successor. The first thing after stepping into office was upgrading ECS Stratford to a Dreadnought class ship. It, ECS Melbourne and the commanding flagship Solaris are the only dreadnoughts and mainstays of the Earth Navy.

Heline, Andrew Zacharias (2657 -)
Admiral
Second in Command of COMF

Educated at the same school as the COMF Admiral Wakazashi, at Melbourne, Andrew Heline also served in the Protectionate Fleet 22 with Wakazashi. The two were promoted at the same time to Admirals, and are rather close friends. Thus it was natural that Wakazashi appointed Heline as his second in command.

Suzanne Rosenberg is a student of The Military Academy of Earth at South Africa. She attended the Advanced Officer studies there, and joined Coalition Marine Corps in 2680. After getting promoted to Colonel, she directed and lead a Marine detachment to a very succesfull seek and destroy mission deep into a Bree territory in 2684, destroying an installation possibly producing genetical pathogens. She was secretly awarded a Medal of Outstanding Courage after that, and continued to rise in the chain of command, until in 2694 she became the Supreme Commander of the Coalition Marines. She directs all operations requiring boarding other ships and attacking planet surface with infantry, and acts as the medium between the Marines and the Navy, the primary fields of Earth Military.

Endo, Ferninand Alvarez (2655 - )

Ferdinand Endo is from Asiatic and Southern European origins, and was a primus student of his class of Areal Combat Operations at the Navy Education Centre in Toronto, Canada. Admiral Endo is responsible of co-ordinating and mobilizing Coalition defense in Sol at times of hostile attacks. His spesific authority covers Static Orbital Defense Systems and DOS's (Defense Only Ships), which are not usually equipped with burdening FTL drives, but are heavily armed and nimble at non-FTL speeds.

Kvaerner, Craylen Ulysses (2642 -)
President of Interplanetary Enterprises Incorporated

Craylen U. Kvaerner is the man holding most power in the corporate hierarchy of InEn. He has two percents of the share, and with the twelve largest owner families set aside, the largest single shareholder in the entire universe. He was educated in the Scandinavian University of Helsinki, and graduated with an almost perfect degree of International Trade and Interplanetary Economics. He was then recruited by a "head-hunter" to InEn, and steadily rose in rank for some twenty years, until in 2690 he was the second youngest InEn president in it's long history.
The president does all decisions regarding the company. He must, however, consult the board accompanied by representatives of the shareholders, and if necessary, the board will separately decide on a proper course of action.

Vice president of Interplanetary Enterprises Inc.

Advisor and probable successor of president Kvaerner. Helps Kvaerner in management questions, carries out president's orders and oversees company assets.

Hedsteedt, Soren Mitchell (2631 -)
Retired Admiral of Coalition Navy

Chief Military Advisor of InEn Inc.
Hedsteet is the leader of InEn space fleets. As a former Navy admiral, he has respectable expertise over space battle strategies and tactics.

Kirkendahl, Maurice (2638 -)
Retired General of Coalition Marine Corps
Secondary Military Advisor of InEn Inc.

Responsible of InEn Infantry operations, whether in space (boarding) or planet surface. Officially equal in InEn hierarchy with MO-2 Hedsteedt, but since Naval operations are of such larger concern, Kirkendahl's talents are rarely completely perused.

Note:
What remains to be told about InEn military personnel is, that they are designated by a easily memorizable system of rank. The lowest possible rank (Marine Recruit, in comparison) is MU-7 = Military Unit 7. There are seven MS ranks, then seven MO (Military Officer) ranks. These designations are then possibly elaborated by adding an extra letter to inform of the type of soldier, I for Infantry and N for Navy. For example, a person of rank MU-4/I is a MU-4 ranked Infantry personnel.
Usually, highest Infantry rank is MO-4, and Navy rank MO-3. Soren Hedsteedt is MO-2N, Maurice Kirkendahl MO-2I, and president Kvaerner is the only one with the MO-1 rank.

Stormhill, Daniel Richard (2657 -)
Secretary General of Terran Alliance

Daniel Stormhill is the leader of Terran Alliance. He has no actual control over the Alliance members, but oversees and ensures that Alliance regulations are controlled, and also takes care of organizing different Alliance operations, such as the Terran Alliance Joint Task Force military co-operation program, the Terran Alliance Combined Research Effort project, and many others. He also runs the sessions of the Alliance council at TA Headquarters in Geneva, Earth.

Hassinen, Tuomas Johannes (2658 -)
Supreme Liaison Officer of Terran Alliance Joint Task Forces

Handles the efforts of the multifactional military co-operation program Terran Alliance Joint Task Forces. He oversees military operations and appoints different tasks to different factions. The Terran Alliance JTF is only used when the Terran Alliance's Seventh Article, the one about joint defense, steps into activity. That means an Alliance member is attacked by a non-Alliance member.

Emperor Sheng-Ji Yang (formerly Chairman Yang/Security Chief Yang) (human)

-Since leaving Chiron, Yang's faction has literally exploded with victories. His faction has grown into a formidable force and the sheer size of the Greater Hive Empire is testimony to the "utopian society" idealism that he possesses. (?)

After the string of victories over the alien civilizations, Yang has crowned himself emperor, believing it his 'manifest destiny' to control the perfect society. His public persona has, over time, developed into something larger than life and so many citizens consider him a god.

Still believing in the good of the state, he strives to make his empire 'perfect' under his image. This being the case, there are NO companies in his empire...everything is controlled by the state. However, realizing the sheer diversity of his citizens, he does allow them more freedoms than he used to.

Personally, he has maintained his warm demeanor and his "god-hood" hasn't affected his ego greatly. The upper echelon's of the Hive Empire approach him with reverence and he still has his sense of control over his emotions.

His role as a leader is still as it was on Chiron. He makes the majority of the decisions and military campaigns are usually started because of his orders. He does have a cabinet and listens to them for additional information he may need.

Royal Guard (various)

-The Royal Guard are the elite bodyquards of Yang. Still wary of outsiders he keeps a retinue of the best warriors in the Empire close to him. 100% loyal, each member comes from different regions and species in the Empire.

Minister Abdullah Ehud (human)
Minister of Hive Economy
-The great-grandson of Minister Ehud, Abdullah carries the knowledge of his great-grandfathers assassination. Abdullah Ehud fosters a deep resentment of Morgan and his citizens, believing they are responsible for the death. He has dedicated his life so the Hive economy will one day rival Morgans, but has so far ben relatively unsuccessful.

Warmaster Kang (Bulwark)
(Supreme Commander of the Hive Military)

-After the Bulwark Commonwealth capitulated to the Hive, then Chairman Yang began eliminating any potential Bulwark threats. One who wasn't killed was Barthos Kang.

General Kang led the Bulwark offensive at the end of the war that killed Hive general Smith on his command ship. The tactical brilliance Kang possessed was noticed by the Chairman and decided to make him a Warmaster.

Being a Bulwark, Warmaster Kang towers over the humans and his size is only accentuated by his muscles. His hand-to-hand combat skill is unmatched except by the Emperor. His loyalty to Yang is unquestioned.

-A human in charge of interior affairs, Johann Fredrickson is in charge of seeing the overall well being of Hive citizens. Healthcare and public works fall under his jurisdiction

Born during the rebuilding of New Jerulsam, Martin had shown a keen instrest in government and religon. He joined the Temple Gaurd at the age of 18 and began his 30 year long career in the field or protecting the planets. He entered politics after the Demover Consipracy which forced the Marshal of the Heavnly Host out of office. He was inducted into the Conclave and soon became the leader of the law making body due to his poltical neutrality.

History.
Born on a tramp frighter that ran the rout between New Jerulsam and New Eden, Dexeter soon fell in love with space. He was impressed by the Temple Gaurds at the age of 15 to fight in the pirate campaign, (which cleared out the astroids of New Eden) he soon rose in rank and became the captain of the Light Crusier Lighting Strike . The crusier was the one that resuced Speaker Lias in the Kittmon Crisis. With the rescuse of the Speaker (who became his patron) he began to climb rapidly up the ranks of the Temple Star Fleet. It was Vice Admiral Mathews who lead the Dreadnought Victory at Lab 3 that took down Marshal's Demover mercrancy fleet and the godless man's hopes of dommination over the 6 worlds of the Believers.

Dr. Celia K. Dingswayo
President, Sol-based Morgan Industries Holdings

~ Miss Celia K. Dingswayo was born on Earth in 2665 in Namibia. A distant relative of CEO Morgan himself, she helped purchase what had been old Earth’s Morgan Industries, the company formed by CEO Morgan before the Unity project even began. She was made Vice-President to Mr. Haldeberd, who was replaced by Morgan in 2700 and sent to control some mining colonies in the Propus System. In his place Miss Dingswayo was made President, and she valiantly dealt with the anti-Morganite aggression from Interplanetary Enterprises and other Terran groups. She is engaged to be married.

Paul Lehman
Major General, Second-In-Command, Morganite Armies

~ Paul Lehman was born in 2609 on Pollux C, ‘Aristophanes’, into a strong, Germanic family. His father was a common worker there. Lehman joined the army for basic training, and soon decided to stay in the army. He was promoted to Major in 2630, and then Lieutenant Colonel seven years later. Then another four years later he was promoted Colonel. By 2700, he was Major General and Second-In-Command of the Morganite Army, and is now one of Marchand’s most trusted officers.

Secretary of Defense

~ Mrs. Amalthea Whitaker was born in 2589 at Castor A, ‘Cyrus’, Morgan Industries. Her father was a war hero, being wounded in the heroic defense of Morgan Mines against the Bree attackers. Her mother was a stock analyst. At the age of 20 she briefly joined the army, apparently to learn discipline. She entered politics at the age of 41, and by the time she was 57, she was made Secretary of Defense. She served in that position very capably, after replacing Ivan Ludger, who was considered very poor when compared to her.

~ Cornelius Walker was born in 2307 at Morgan Studios on old Chiron. His mother was a Gaian and a friend to Lady Deirdre Skye. It may well have been this fact that made him aspire to become a diplomat. In 2600, he was made Foreign Secretary.

Assistant Foreign Secretary

~ Mrs. Sonia Rabinowitch was born in 2424 at Morgan Industries on old Chiron. Her family was of Bavarian-Jew descent. She proved invaluable to Mr. Walker and to Morgan Interstellar during Pirate Gate, and was thus made Assistant Foreign Secretary. She was sent, along with Mr. T.M. Morgan-Reilly, Mr. Imran Siddiqui, and many other luminaries to Earth’s moon in late 2700 for a peace conference with Interplanetary Enterprises Corporation. Unfortunately this conference failed, and she was slightly injured in a surprise attack on the diplomat’s ship by InEn forces. The result was a full scale war between Morgan Interstellar and Interplanetary Enterprises.

~ R.W. Delgado was born in 2634 on Castor C, ‘Xerxes’ to an old Spanish family. He quickly became a trade supervisor, and even worked briefly on the Namibian Queen, which would suffer a sad fate in 2700. His competence soon led to his promotion (in 2697) to trade director (and BoT Director) of Morgan Interstellar.

Dr. Ishimora Heidyako
Trade Analyst

~ Ishimora Heidyako was born in 2658 on Castor B, Darius, to a family of Japanese descent. As well as being a superb chef at a Japanese style restaurant for some years, Heidyako made a fortune in the stocks, and was soon recommended by a friend in the Morganite Board of Trade of Castor B for trade work. He excelled as a trade analyst, and was finally requested by Director Smithson (replaced by Delgado after his tragic death) for work at Morgan Interstellar, arriving a year before Delgado was made Trade Director.

Economics Advisor

~ B(enjamin) W(alter) Ewell was born in 2672 on Castor A, Cyrus, into a family of Anglo-Saxon descent. He was recruited by MorganNetDaily.com for Economics Analyst, and was soon given a government position as a minor Economics Advisor to the CEO. He is engaged to another Economics Advisor, Miss Sophie Carstairs.

~ Sophie Carstairs was born in 2673 on Castor A, Cyrus, into a family of Anglo-Saxon descent. Her father, George Carstairs, was an Economic’s Advisor to the CEO. It was through this link that she too became an Economics Advisor. She is engaged to B.W. Ewell.

Admiral, Commander of Morganite Space Fleet

~ Antonio Vallachi was born in 2598 on the watery planet Castor B, ‘Darius’. His great-great-great-grandfather had been an officer in Morgan’s (small) fleet on Chiron. He became a scout ship ensign in 2627, and a captain in 2635. By 2689, he was promoted to Admiral, and then overall commander of the Morganite space fleet in 2692. He soon began to call for the re-organization of the fleet.

Saeed El-Hashian
Governor, Pollux C

~ Governor Saeed El-Hashian, Planetary Governor of Pollux C, ‘Aristophanes’. Born of Saudi Arabian parents in 2557 at Castor D, ‘Artaxerxes’, Morgan Studios, he received a PhD in Political Science at MorganEducation University on Castor B. After befriending Imran Siddiqui, El-Hashian’s political power seemed to grow from nothing to a diplomatic advisor literally overnight. Unfortunately after a near stock crash on Morgan Ceramics in 2604, he was given the boot. He was soon shipped off to a remote moon of Castor F to supervise mining operations. He excelled at it, surprisingly, and was later sent to Pollux C as Governor.

Lord Protector Ian McDiarmid I
Ruler of the Human Protectorate
Born: 2023, New Braunfels, United States, Earth

Notes: Graduated from Texas A&M engineering school. Served as the Head of the Texan Militia during the Great Burn of 59-60. After the UN Space Agency collpsed, post-Unity, the United States began construction on their own ship. Ian was assigned as Security Chief.

The USS Endeavor, a few years after launch, fell into a Wormhole and was deposited in the Altair system. The command staff was awaken, and Captain Griffin agreed to the decision to colonize Altair 4.

In 2089, a uprising began on the Southern Continent, and Governor Griffin was killed. Forces under McDiarmid crushed the Rebellion with minimal casulties on both sides. The Senate propelled McDiarmid, first into the Governorship, then as Lord Protector. The Protectorate was born.

The Protectorate has held togather mostly through Ian's force of will. He has used Linear Accelaterators ("Mass Drivers") against rebellious colonies. He has maintained the complete secrecy of the Protectorate amongst other Human Nations. And he has cemented a Alliance with the equally secretive Dosi.

Unfortunatly, this part of the Orion arm is getting crowded, and the time will soon come when the Protectorate is revealed...

Laekdaemon Cadre Characters


Menelaus: Born in 2219, Bunker 56, parentage unknown. At the beginning of the war against the Progenitors the Usurper air force gas-bombed Bunker 56 out of existence and all citizens were presumed dead. Menelaus and a few others however did not die, as the Cadre had successfully infiltrated the base and was evacuating when the attack came. They helped everyone else that they could to escape too, and brought Menelaus up as a member of their movement. As a consequence he believes deeply in the Cadre and it’s aims, and was very well trusted because of this.

At the age of 16 he was shot in the face with a shredder pistol during a Spartan military raid on a Cadre command post. He suffered severe scarring on his right cheek from this, and although the shattered bone was replaced the scars remain as a distinguishing mark.
He was commissioned at the age of 19 as an officer in the Cadre forces, and also fought alongside the forces of the other human factions, including the Spartans, against the Progenitors.

He served especially well as a combat leader, as the memory of the pain inflicted on him with the scars always seemed to be a fresh source of anger in battle. In consequence he was not promoted beyond combat level to strategic posts, but was a highly respected and influential member of the Cadre. This was shown by the fact that he was always given a share of the meagre Longevity Vaccines that the Cadre owned.

After the Spartans left Chiron for the stars, Menelaus was promoted to higher ranks, but frequently returned to combat in raids against Spartan targets. He spent far less time in battle, however, than in planning and administration.

After the assassination of the last Leonidas, Menelaus assumed personal control of the Cadre and gave authorisation for Project Odyssey. When it was put into action he led the operation himself and it went flawlessly.

He is currently the supreme authority over the settlements on Agamemnon Prime and is attempting to establish some basic infrastructure there. To this end he is interested in making peace with the Spartans and especially with the Morganites and Drones. However, he also believes that the Hive may have technology of use to him, so he is not willing to go all out with Sparta if it means angering Yang.


Warmaster Reibisch Leinin: Commander Reibisch is Menelaus’s chief military commander and was the main organizer of Project Odyssey along with Intel Director Katrina.
He was born on Sparta Prime in 2657 the son of Mark and Cassandra Leinin, and graduated from the Spartan Military Academy in 2677. He was an outstanding member of his class at tactical and strategic exercises, though only average at hand to hand combat. As a result he was assigned to a role in planning and strategy, and served excellently for several years. However, after he organised a Spartan attack against a Cadre group (having been told that they were ‘traitors and terrorists’) and witnessed afterwards what the Spartans had done, he became disillusioned and made contact with a Cadre leader. He requested a spell of leave from duty and when this was granted he joined the Cadre.

With the Cadre he once again demonstrated his skill at organisation, planning and tactics, and was steadily promoted until he was made chief of the Cadre’s command staff 2689. His most successful operation was an attack on a Spartan armoury on New Caladon, which resulted in the Cadre obtaining a quite substantial stockpile of military hardware. After Project Odyssey and the establishment of Cadre independence, Menelaus appointed him as the supreme commander of his armed forces and a crucial figure with in the Cadre.

Intel Director Katrina: Intel Director Katrinais the only person in the upper ranks of the Cadre who was not born in Sparta. She was born in the University in 2508 and received extensive training in physics and computer skills before joining the University Probe Teams in 2531. During training with them she came into contact with several ex-Data Angel operatives who had had past dealings with the Cadre. After completing training in 2536 she was assigned to keep the Spartans under surveillance and in the process discovered much information about the Cadre.

She sent a report to her superiors about the Cadre, who in 2540 ordered her to attempt an infiltration of them in the hope that useful information could be gleaned. She did manage enter the outer level of Cadre recruits, but the new entries were scrutinised constantly by Cadre security teams. She was caught and exposed as a University operative but rather than being executed she spent several years being indoctrinated into Cadre ideology and in the end agreed to serve with the Cadre on the condition she not be asked to act against the University.

She became part of the Cadre security forces and steadily worked her way up. She survived the last Spartan purge in 2556 and was able to save almost a hundred Cadre members from arrest and execution. In 2587 she was promoted to be the Director of the espionage forces and remained in that post ever since.

She was given substantial cybernetic enhancement by the University, and this has aided her greatly in tasks such as computer hacking and endurance.

Admin Chief Marcus Fletcher: Marcus is one of the few Cadre members who did not rise through the ranks by involvement in the military. He was an aide to the Spartan commander of the two colony ships seized during Odyssey and co-operated with the Cadre afterwards. He showed himself to be a capable civil governor and as a result is now in complete control of civilian administration.

He was born in 2662, on Sparta Prime, as the son of James and Marie Fletcher. Due to health problems chose to enter the Spartan bureaucracy rather than the military. As he was an efficient worker he was assigned as an aide to the Spartan governor of Brasidas and afterwards to the future governor of whatever colony the stolen ships would have set up.

He does not have a particularly distinctive or outgoing personality, but he is organised, diligent, efficient and obedient. These qualities make him valuable and he is treated as such.

Dr. Henry Pym
Provost, National Science Council
Born: 2021, Amarillo, Texas

Something of a Wunderkid groing up, Henry Pym earned his first Doctorate at age 17. (in Astrophysics) After spending a comfortable life at UC Berkeley, he accepted a job at the University of Houston Particle Physics Lab in 2060, as the United States dissintigrated.

He was chosen to head the Endeavor's science department, but, strangely enough, not the Engineering section. Following Planet fall, Pym began to work with Chief XenoBiologist Dr. Muir in creating food for the colony. He is widely regarded to have been crucial in preventing a historical "Starving time" colonies have gone through in the past.

In 2100, Pym created the National Science Council, and began work on new alloys for starship construction. Such early research has allowed the Protectorate to maintain a lead on starship hulls even before the acquistion of Dosi Nanotech hulls.

Even more important, Pym discovered Tachyon emissions in 2134, proving the existence of FTL communication. Somewhere, out there, there were advanced E.T.s.

Unfortunatly, Pym nearly died in lab accident in 2189. He fell into a coma and remained there for 400 years at the insistence of Lord Protector Ian. When he finally revived, he seemed more brillant than ever, driving forward the technology of the Protectorate at a rate never seen.

Today, Pym is one of the few members of the Inner Cabinat who can get away with speaking derisively to Ian. Ian knows that this brillant man may be the only one who can get the Protectorate on top, and make sure it stays there.
