Anybody play CTP2 with Windows XP yet?
I'm planning to buy a Dell system before Xmas. I get a choice of Windows ME or XP, and I've heard ME is pretty lousy. Anybody here try out CTP2 with XP yet? I mainly play with Med Mod 2 so I'll need the modswapper to work too. Thanks.

And yes, I'm back!
I've been very busy with grad school and my job as a research assistant. Things are still pretty hectic, but I'll try to find some time to browse the threads and maybe play a game or two. I'll also have to check out Crusade. Looks pretty impressive.

Hi jules
I am playing CTP2 with XP, and it works, actually the ais turns goes past very very quick on my 450mhz , so I'll recommend you go with XP

yes and that's means what

I have a p2 266

and the ai's turn can go in a few seconds or it may take five min what you have said has no meaning so lets try a common frame of reference what's it like on the Alexander the great scenario were you can see all the map with the animation on.

Okay, alexander the great:
First Turn: 27sek
Second Turn: 21sek
Third Turn: 21sek
Fourth Turn: 22sek
Fifth Turn: 20sek
Sixth Turn: 26sek

That is with all animations on, with winamp playing in the background, and full map through cheat.
Good enough?

Thanks for the info. I'm going with WinXP.

It's a Dell Dimension 8200 with 256MB PC800 RDRAM,
Pentium 4 1.7GHz. I suspect the AI's turn will go a bit
faster than what you guys are talking about.

That's better 26 seconds is good it takes my about 2 min to do it on my 266 with me so it should be good on xp I have me and all the people I know with me say it is bad too. I myself would go with xp.
