The solution to long wait times between turns
Hi everyone,

Here is my solution to those insane wait times between turns...

Attached here is a program (speedhack) that makes the time clock of the computer tick faster (note: has nothing to do with CPU speed, just makes the hour clock go faster). This has the effect that all the in-game moves & animations play much faster.

Just start this program before starting your game up. Then push the slider to the right to make the game go faster. Dont go ALL the way to the right - things get screwy then, just put it say one third or halfway to the right. Note that this might jumble the hour on your computer so you may have to reset the time after .

This does NOT work in Win2000, and may not wokr in WinXP. Woks fine in Win98.

This wont help much if you just have a slow computer and you spend all yoru wait time looking at a still screen - but if your wait time is mostly taken by watching the units move and watching your 100 workers going around the map, this will definitely help. After using this I couldnt believe how slow the units move in Civ, even with the animations turned off.

Tell me if this helps anyone. (Note : Im not the author of this program though).

Regards,
Zienyin
