So what is the safest way to do this?
I want to do this patch thing in the right order.

Is this what I do in the following order? (Using the Add/Remove program in Control Panal)

1- uninstall or remove 1st patch
2-uninstall or remove Civ3
3-Reinstall Civ3
4-download and install new patch

I want to keep this as clean and problem free for my computer as I can. Since I have no saved games that I care about that part will not be an issue.

Please advise as I want to take care of this today.

You might as well, but there isn't a rush. The difference between the two exe's are incredibly small, which is why the diffing program didn't catch it (same size pre-safedisc). One thing to keep in mind is that when you run the updated patch, it will uninstall the other one. Let it do it's thing and then run the patch again.

Hope this helps dude

translation:

Running new patch will uninstall old patch. Civ3 back to original state. Running new patch again will install new patch.

So you don't advise me to uninstall Civ3 as well as the first patch?

Run the 2nd patch twice?

Somehow I want to get the game and the patch off my hard drive and start over. Would that be ok?

(Of COURSE I am a UGA fan. Go Dogs! and Glory, Glory to old Georgia!)
