Passing through North pole. Hello Santa!!!
I woundered if there was a way to consider that the Earth is spheric and to pass from one side to the other side of the globe by passing by the North pole. Like USSR submarines that were hanging ans passing between Canada and Russia, under the glaciers.

For some reason all Microprose/Firaxis games are like this. It is probably just to simplify things.

Another reasoning is that the north/south boundaries you see are not exactly the poles, but the start of uncharted and uncrossable territory. Think of top and bottom of the map as the edge of the polar caps which no living thing can navigate.

that would be a donut world like ctp, to do it right you would have to come out on the top a third or summin; a way across, just imagion onthe earth map russia goes up and meets the top of usa
