Which is a pity. I rather enjoyed the movies of civ2.
I also liked the movies with the advisors (Elvis and co.)

Yes it's very sad that they dont included wonder movies
They kinda inmersed you into the game..

for example SMAC graphics weren't very good at all (that redish terrain hurts my eyes! ), but the interludes, and the secret project movies were excellent.. (one of my favorites was the Self-aware colony. very scary)

If only.. they haven't rushed the game...

Totally agree. I was v disappointed they've taken out the multimedia. I loved the little movies in Civ2 and SMAC - gave me an enormous feeling of well being and achievement when they played.

Yeah and the self aware colony was great - for a while that was my "welcome to windows" sound

about the terrain
If you're dissappointed w/the terrain, I recommend you try sn00py's mod file: http://apolyton.net/getfile.shtml?<a...snoopy.zip</a>

I hope I got the code right; I'm not used to vB code forums.

It has been stated by the designers that they felt the movies "took you away from the game."
As opposed to random pictures that may or may not have anything to do with the wonder.

Wonder movies don't "take me away from the game". Bringing up solitaire to kill some time while the computer takes its turn does.

I fully expect to see "due to popular demand" the addition of wonder movies in the obligatory expansion pack that will be out sometime in late spring. It will give them something to justify the $35 initial asking price for what will be little more than a glorified mod.

Are you serious? They stated it would distract you from the game???? Hilarious

This excuse is soo lame that it cries to heaven but it fits the overall picture of the new Firaxis.
