For God's sake, man, people are dying here.
There's no question that a lot of anxious Civ II fans are on pins and needles awaiting this game. I don't think it's beyond the pale to assume that some of these people are dying of cancer or AIDS or some other incurable disease, and they're hoping beyond hope that somehow Civ III will come out before they die. Meanwhile, over at Firaxis, they're monkeying around with some dinosaur thing. WHAT ARE THEY THINKING???? People are dying out here. Let's get our priorities straight people.

Well Spider to put things in a little perspective, Sid Meier and the rest of the Firaxis development team do not exist solely for the purpose of pleasing us the Civ fanatics.

How unfortunate

I didn't realize that civIII was meant to cure major worldwide diseases. How shamefully shortsighted we've all been.

Well, I don't think it's too unreasonable to expect them to fix the Cure for Cancer wonder in this version so that it actually works this time.

It's a bit of an ask for the Cure for Cancer now but don't forget the existing Wonders, Shakespeare's Theatre, Michelangelo's Chapel and JS Bach's Cathedral. If you can't live till the launch at least you'll die with a smile on your lips.

Now come on modern science has cured 2 types of cancer and this approach can be used on all cancers so I say hong kong phewy to you too

And frankly I think the AIDS stricken Civ3 fans would rather not die with the bad taste of a rushed game in their mouth

Par4 the fallacious extrapolation, I'm afraid!

Just because 2 cures for cancer are claimed doesn't mean all cancers will be cured. They still haven't worked out all the mechanisms.

Yeah well things are looking bright and we can keep most people alive for years even decades and without a doubt in 20 years cancer will be dead. I wasn't really being very serious anyway, well wasn't trying to. People take me waaaayyy too seriously

All's I'm trying to say here is: Aren't we kind of Sid Meier's true bosses. We're the ones who pay his salary by having bought Civ I, Civnet, Civ II, and Civ II gold. Not to mention we're the ones who are going to buy his future games. (Well, I guess I did mention it, oops.) What I mean is, it'd be cool and all to wear a suit and tie and sit behind a big ol' desk every day and play with dinosaurs, but shouldn't we expect a little more out of the guy.
