Names for Leaders (sub project)
I am almost done with getting 100 city names for each base civilization. I need about 70 more names to finish all of them.

Now I would like to get the ball rolling for the heroes of each civilization. My idea is to name them using the following areas:

2 Political
2 Artisans
2 Military
2 Scientists
2 Mythological

If anyone can assist by providing names with their category that are verifiable, your help will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks Guys!
Well only about 10 more civs to go!!!

All the city names are done so this is the last element to finish.

I'm sorry I have not been more active the past two weeks but the boards were down and I had much to do work wise. Anyway, I'm back in the groove!

American Mythos
Yeah, I'm kind of vexed on it as well. The great melting pot country is hard pressed to lay claim to its own myth much like England (we need our own JRR Toliken). Time to break out the ol US history books.

BTW: I would like to avoid using comic book and movie heroes if possible. Some how "A great leader named Aquaman appeared in New York" just does not sound right.

Maybe Superman......

Lets see.......well alot of american real people were turned into myths........

so you could take someone like davey crockett and say thats myth...

more like a tall tale......

Rosie the riveter
GI Joe
Superman would be good, truth justice and the american way

Ahhh…. Not in my universe! But if the general feeling of the community is to go with American pop culture over -what shall we call it?

The Institutionalized Idolism (maybe?) of classical civilizations then why not.

Good job Dark Force, but sorry, for the sake of correctness I have to change the spelling of some names you wrote (just not to create more "Richtoffen" --> Richthofen):

Friedrich Babrossa --> Friedrich Barbarossa (Frederick Barbarossa)
Otto von Bismark --> Otto von Bismarck (he is the big boss anyway and can't be used as a GL)
Wolfgang von Goethe --> Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (that matters!)
Friedisch Schiller --> Friedrich Schiller
Johan Sebastian Bach --> Johann Sebastian Bach
Ludwig van Bethoven --> Ludwig van Beethoven

I'm absolutely sure that these spellings are correct.

Mmh, I think that the "Artisans" and "political" should be replaced by "artists" (after all, the player is already the political leader).

Scientists
- Tesla
- Mendeliev

Cultural
- Tolstoi
- Chekhov
- Solzhenitsyn

IMHO you should include Imhotep somewhere in the Egyptian list. He is the first known architect in history, famous for Zoser's step pyramid and funerary temple. Over 2000 years later he was deified by the Ptolemies (sp?), thought to be the same as the Greek Hippocrates (he was famous as a medical genius too ).
