Problem with diplomatic agreements
I just started a new game, where I bought Writing off the Egyptians while I was researching it. Now I am unable to make any kind of diplomatic agreement (alliance, right of passage) with the other civs. I know they have writing too, so that's not a problem. How can I fix this? I had a problem last game where I bought the last ancient tech and the era transition screen didn't appear, and thus my city graphics didn't change. This wasn't a big deal and it fixed itself when I went into the industrial age... but it might be a serious problem if I can never make any diplomatic agreements for the rest of the game. Any suggestions?

Yes, I do have the patch installed.

Ignore this thread, I forgot I needed to establish an embassy first. Almost 10 games so far and I still forget some things.
