Well man, If u hate the game so much, what the hell are u doing here? You have nothing better to do then Bi*ch? Great life man!

Me I will "buy" the expansion pack (or get it for free on the net)cuz I think civ3 is a great game and I got my moneys worth. (I bought the original game). And I think that Firaxis's emplyees being all human there was no possible way of making this game perfect for EVERYONE! So until all you Bi*chers can make a better game, we dont need you here!!

And to all you real civ freaks, DOMINATE!!!!

Right on!!!

I prefer to think of it as bringing the benefits of civilization to the less advanced cultures of the world.

Dominate? Jeesh...Is it just me, or are game forums becoming hotbeds of extremism these days? I would like to lock you "fanboys" in a room with Yin and his ilk and see who emerges alive.
I remember being on another forum- Jowood's forum for World War 3 Black Gold, and I think the other posters there were contemplating a hit on me for even suggesting that Red Alert 2 just might have the edge in being a better game than WW3. If you want a laugh, you can check it out- I was logged in as blackdog0069. Just don't get 'em stirred up again; they get real emotional...

Merriam-Webster

"Anxious has a long history of use roughly as a synonym for eager, but many prefer that anxious be used only when its subject is worried or uneasy about the anticipated event. In the traditional view, one may say 'We are anxious to see the strike settled soon' but not 'We are anxious to see the new show of British sculpture at the museum'. Fifty-two percent of the Usage Panel rejects anxious in the latter sentence." — ELUPC

here you go, opaque:

http://forum.jowood.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2203

They had another thread polling their readers as to the best strategy game of the year- you probably won't be too suprised to see that WW3 won. When I voted for Civ3 they wanted to take me out and hang me

Context is everything.

People have been using anxious as a synonym for eager for over 250 years . . . Using anxious to mean “eager” can have its own effectiveness, at least in colloquial discourse, since it adds emotional urgency to an assertion. It implies that the subject so strongly desires a certain outcome that frustration of that desire will lead to unhappiness. http://www.bartleby.com/64/C003/032.html

I am a very satisfied customer and anxiously look forward to any patches, updates, or revisions.

Yeah. People have been eating blood sausage even longer than that.

Uh huh. I can think of nothing sadder than the unrequited yearning for a patch.

By now, I believe you.

No problem, Charles. I like Shaggy. He's wrong, but he's honest.
