Something is missing?

When playing the game, there's always one specific thing I miss from the good ol' Civ1...As far as I remember it was the F9 back then (Correct me if I'm wrong ). By hitting that key the screen showed the world map (From what you know ofcause)...I'd like to have that one back, with a few (On/off) buttons added: Borders and cities.

The largest map we have now is the cultural advisor map, but it's hard to see where the borders are, the cities are just way too BIG on such a tiny map.
