Life After Death?
I completely eliminated a civilization, but my foreign advisor lists me as still at war with this civilization two turns later even though I can't talk to the civ's ruler. Is this an intentional effect, or an oversight in the programming? Am I still accrueing the negative effects of being at war even though my enemy has been eliminated? Does a conquered civ ever go away?

Wouldn't it have been nice if the game had included some way of keeping track of the effects of negative modifiers like "war weariness"?

Did you get the message that you had destroyed the civ, or did you just take his last city that you were aware of? If the civ just has a Settler remaining, it has not been destroyed yet!

If it gave you the message, then there may be a problem ... perhaps a reboot will fix.
