the 100 list is about history. if you want to make a list of purely active members, fine. but it hardly measures up to DarkCloud's list. It shouldn't be easy to make the list, you have to put in years of effort to make it on. Besides, Civ3 is often more spammy than the OT is today, or have you missed the fact that we have 4 mods to clamp down on us?

Wasn't there some sort of top 100 based on merit? Post count aside, there a lot of on topic posters (scenarios, tools, utils, list making) who've made a lasting impact on the civ community thanks to that.

DC does run a hall of fame, with inductees every so often.

Although people with a larger post-count do tend to get voted for more than lower post-count people. A motion to restrict people from being voted in with less than 1000 posts was defeated.

I do think it is a little unfair that many of the posters who were here several years ago got to spam there way to Empirer on the OT while the rest of us actually have to work for our posts
Well, they received many PCRs back in those days

And there were the forum wars between the CTP OT and Civ II OT
(Yes there were 2 OTs, but that was before I started posting- and possibly before I started viewing- aug 1999... It took posters a long time to get to Emperor) When I made emperor, we only had about 25... now we have 40
...
and OT posts no longer count.
...
...
Who're the spammers now?

87 Emperors to be precise. Yes, I do have too much free time at the moment.

We still have 5 deities, and around 300 or so Kings.

Court jester - otherwise known as 'fool' was a person who entertained the court by singing, telling jokes and generally acting the fool - often they were also spies and councillors for ruler...

Hehe, change it to something from the film. Possibilities:

1) I'll bite ya kneecaps off.
2) *what* is your favourite colour?
3) Your father smells of elderberries.

And many many more. Pick your favourite bit.

I was going to make an off-color remark about celibate and swallow, but I think I'll pass.

Knowing that the girl birds want coconuts helps motivate the nerdy swallows who aren't getting any to fly faster.

For the Samuel L Jackson fans out there the attachment might be amusing.

I d/led this from a humour site and accept no responsibility for it, but it appears to be virus/trojan etc free as far as my own - fairly extensive - defenses can determine.
