All: Monkey Toosh. If we go on the offensive and take a few cities, the Germans will have their Northern Guard over their cities UNDERDEFENDED!

We then have forces take the northern cities. The railroads would be of little help.

Remember how the AI usually stocks up about 50 defensive units on the border thats being taken? Well, we are taking advantage of that now

And whats wrong with Cavalry? Toosh pah, we have almost 50 cavalry units, and alot of Infantry. We'll beat Germany by numbers if we have to.

considering ive seen infantry take on cavalry and going elite right before dying... and if u dont take out the last guy he will be healed the next turn and ull lose another 3 units grrrr

i usually (in my own games) do 1 small war with the AI to get rid of my out of date military... usually 5 turns after i have tanks ill do a quick war with my cavalry. send them all in to either get slaughtered or take 1 city then play defense for 5 turns and sue for peace.

yeah, cavalry are going to be a disaster. DO we have an intelligence agency. WE should get one and try to plant a spy. WE should make sure we're ready for war, but if we succeed, we can see the numbers of their military, if not the locations...

PS: cavalry do NOT upgrade to tanks, so we'd have to buil em from scratch!

THat's what's happening in my game i based the story I wrote on right now. The jap infantry are deadly, although they have very few of them! What's worse is that someone i've always been friendly with on my own continent is trading them the rubber!!! (i don't know who but the only people not at war with them are on my own continent and i'm friendly with them.)

PS: I got into that war because of a big network of MPPs. Now, whenever someone makes peace with japan, they're pulled back in a few turns later! No peace until Jpan is dead or I cancel the MPPs. But the MPP with the romans i will never cancel, i need an ally for my planned invasion of england which will turn into a two-front war because they have an MPP with China. I feel a world war coming...

One strategy I saw @ CivFanatics once is get some explorers...and use 'em @ forward guides to PILLAGE all of the strategic resources...
Then use 'em to draw the computer AI away from your main attack force (I love how the AI can't handle multi-front wars!

pretty funny.

yea...

what i usually do with my cav's is i disband them into tank building cities or just send like 20 towards each city i want to take


cuz we all know even mech infantry die to knights if u send enough of them at them. :/

errrm...

WOOOOT.

the mod im playing rox... low corruption cant be beat...

if this game had selections before u made a game for amount of corruption like.. :

Very low----Low----Medium----- Heavy---- very heavy

something like that.. this game would be much more enjoyable...
I myself cant stand the corruption in a game where i have a huge empire...


right now i have like 90 cities and control a whole continent.
and every buildings i have = less corruption cuz of the mod... OMG IT ROX.

lets me explore things i havent had the chance to try before ]
especially the ability to build units out of ALL ur cities... it helps

Last war... well im really still fighting it it involves a AI with larger empire then me.. (barely)
and 2 other largish empire's.

they landed me like 5 times but having rail road = ownage of there army everytime

BTW, here is an update on my modded game... See how you would like it...




CHANGES:

- Wealth is changed from 1-8 shields per gold coin, to 1-4 shields per gold coin.

- Basic Barbarian is now an Archer

- Advanced Barbarian is now a Swordsmen

- Communism has been weakened down to having unit support changed to 1 per town, 2 per city, and 4 per metropolis. Worker rate increased to 3.

- Democracy has been renamed to Capitalism ( NOTE: Democracy is the political side of a government, and Capitalism is an Economic side of a government. I was pretty annoyed when Firaxis pants this up since it is quite possible to have a democratic communist government )

Capitalism has a unit support of 1 per city, and 2 per metropolis, Military Police has been added up to 1, and assimilation chance has been increased to 6%. Capitalism has also lost its 'Propaganda' Immunity, and has recieved a negative propaganda modifier for almost every other government. Cannot Hurry Production. Cost upkeep per unit is now 2 gold peices a turn.

- Republic has a unit support of 1 per city, 1 per metropolis. Military Police has been raised to 1. Assimilation chance has been increased to 4%

- Monarchy has a worker rate of 3 now. As well as using forced labor to get the job done. Unit support has been changed to 2 per town, 3 per city, and 4 per metropolis.

- Marketplace now has a culture value of 1.

- Temple requires 0 upkeep.

- The Hanging Gardens takes longer to make obsolete ( Motorized Transportation replaces Steam Power )

- The Great Library lets you gain any advances from two civs, as well as gaining 2 advances for yourself.

- The Great Wall places a wall in every city on the continent.

- Magellan's Voyage is a stupid wonder... Added the bonus of having a 8 point culture, plus having the ability to gain any advances from two known Civs.

- Shakespeare's Theatre now has been changed to put 4 happy faces in one city, and 1 happy face in every other city.

- Combat Experience levels are now changed. It is like before, but all experience levels were given an additional point of HP ( Conscript is now 3 instead of 2, veterns are now 5 instead of 4, etc, etc )

- Scientist, Tax Collector and Entertainer are twice as powerful. ( IE, Scientists finds 2 points of science every turn, instead of 1. Entertainer entertains 2 people, instead of 1 ).

- Doubled Optimal amount of cities per map ( Except for Standard, which is doubled + 4 )

- Made English Man-O-War actually useful, by letting it have a carrying capacity of 2, a movement range of 5, and an attack strength of 4.

- Courthouse is actually buildable in some small cities lifetime, plus, it has a culture of 1.

- Temple reduces corruption.

- Cathedrals reduce corruption.

- Gave Civs an extra starting tech.

Egypt: Bronze Working
Greece: Pottery
Babylon: Pottery
Germany: The Wheel
Russia: Ceremonial Burial
Chinese: Alphabet
Americans: Warrior Code
Japan: Warrior Code
France: Bronze Working
India: Pottery
Persia: The Wheel
Aztecs: The Alphabet
Zulus: The Wheel
Iroquis: The Alphabet
England: Bronze Working

Added New Government: Fascism
Prequisite: Nationalism
Draft Limit of 5.

Corruption and Waste is Minimal.

- Whats the difference between Theocracy and Fascism? Theocracy comes earlier, and is ment for smaller civilizations who are getting on the losing side of the war. Fascism actually allows you to go and take over some cities. Theocracy is ment purely for small civilizations, so they ain't bullied as badly by the larger civs so easily.

Added New Government: Socialism
Prequisite: Communism
Draft Limit of 1.
Communal Corruption
Military Police of 1.
War Weariness is low.
Unit support is 1 per town, 2 per city, and 2 per metropolis.
Assimilation chance of 4%
Paid Labor
Worker rate of 2.

- The difference between Socialism and the Republic is that Socialism uses a different way of handling corruption. As well as having an easier time of upkeeping soldiers. Republic is ment more for trade, and Socialism is a bit more war friendly.'

- Change starting positions for better diversement, instead of having a civ start location just 7 squares away...

Thoughts on the Mod.

Why is everyone fascinated with Fascism? Rename "Communism" Totalitarianism and you're basically set. I really don't see the difference between Nazis and Communists, beyond superficial ones, of course. Secret police, slave labor, camps, dictator, militaristic, collectivism, etc, etc.

I like the idea of Temples reducing corruption. I like giving Marketplaces some culture quite a lot.

I like Socialism/Capitalism as governments. They're both modern Democracies but the distinction is important.

In general, good stuff.
