canceling treaties?

does anyone have any idea of how to cancel a treaty, in one game i made a trade embargo, and for the duration of the game i was not able to trade with the embargo'd nation.

-Go to the diplomacy screen.
-Talk with the leader you have the embargo with (not the embargo'd leader).
-On the buttom of the screen there is an option "active" (next to new), clik it
-click on the aggrement you want to cancel (in this case the embargo)
-end the negotiations.
