Warning about new patch
I Am running Win Xp with a T-Bird 1000MhZ. I installed the patch (after backing up my civmod.bic), and found that my saved games won't work...

I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but if you are in the middle of a game, you might want to finnish it _before_ instaling the new patch. Of course, i can't seem to find a copy of the _old_ patch to compleat the game...

Thanks! Saw the post made by fireaxis just after I posted. Felt a bit dumb, but at least there was a fix! I had edited my old .bic file (in a war with france, decided that they should have panzers, just to make it interesting), and of course, I had to re-edit the whole damned thing, as it would no longer work...

*sigh*

editor and saved games
Are you saying that if you instal the new patch your edit editor and saved games will not work as you intended? and that your Mods will be wipped out?

I think your saved games will work as long as there are no mods in it. And yes, it looks like the mods will not work. The new (old?) editor will work...at least that's the way I read it!

editor-patch
my saved games are based on a changed editor. The first patch 1.16f did not change anything but I guess I will not install the second patch. Not worth the effort to re do everything.

Hold on! What I read from one of the Fireaxians, was somthing like this: The version of the editor that came with the patch is bad, so if you save a .bic file with that one, it won't work! If, however, you DL the fixed editor, you can use your .bic's as normal. Since I installed the patch, changed somthing with the editor, and then tried to play, it wouldn't work. Since I didn't have a backup copy of my .bic, I had to redit the whole thing once I put the correct editor in place...

The current version of the patch posted on www.firaxis.com is the correct version.

I also noticed that running the add/remove on Civ3 patches does absolutely nothing (well it looks like it does something, but the files are untouched). What is the point of cluttering my add/remove if it doesn't actually UNINSTALL the patch?

fixed editor
I found the fixed editor 2.2 MB Does this enclude all the changes without altering the editor you are now using? Or is it just an editor and will overwrite what you already have in your MOd edited version? Does it effect saved games?

patch 1.17f
I suppose I could backup my MOds on a CD and when I finish my current game I could install the patch and if my MODS have been changed I could just put My saved MODS back?
