missing "binkw32.dll"
Hi, everyone, I just installed the new patch and now Civ3 won't even start. I keep on getting an error message saying that Civ3 can't start because I am missing the file "binkw32.dll". I have tried unistalling Civ3 and reinstalling about 4 times. I am running Windows XP. Does anyone else have this problem? Any help anyone can give me would be much appreciated.

Thanks

You seem to be missing a file once you installed the game. I suggest going to http://www.radgametools.com/bnkdown.htm and download the RadVideo tools.

Thanks for the info Thrawn05. I found the file "binkw32.dll" and put in my Civ3 folder and now I get to the startup screen. But now I get another error message saying "No Civilization III Installation Detected" Could someone please help me?

Looks like you really need to contact firaxis tech support. This seems to me that either the installation was totaly bad (make sure you have only Explorer and Systay running the background when you install it), or the CD was somehow currupt from the start (scratched or its imprinting went bad).

That's all the suggestions I could come up with. Best of luck to ya.
