A question about the endgame (Science Victory)
In all the time I've played CTP1 and CTP2, I have never played out the Science Victory option...

So here are some questions about exactly how I need to accomplish the science victory. The reason why I'm asking is that I want to alter it for Cradle, but I need to know exactly how it works.

According to the endgame file, I need to build the following...

Gaia Computer - 10
Power Satellite - 10
60% coverage of the earth with Obelisks.
The Solaris Project

Upon completion of the Solaris Project, there is a line in the code that indicates that there is a 10 turn activation period. Does this mean that when the ten turns are up, you win the game?

And if you do not have all of the other required elements in place upon completion of the wonder, what does that do to the activation sequence?

I actually think the Solaris Project isn't necessary to win the game with Science Victory (obviously a bug) but I'm not sure about that (only used it once or twice myself).

This is from the FAQ in the General forum and the readme of patch v1.1:
Quote:
How to Win Through Science
Only a truly advanced and careful leader can master the Science Victory. To succeed you must:
1) Research 'Gaia Controller'
2) Complete the Wonder 'The Solaris Project'
3) Build at least 10 Computer Cores and 10 Gaia Satellites
4) Cover 60% of the map with Obelisks
** This includes ocean area too. You may only build on territory controlled by you or an ally.
** Building more Gaia Satellites than the minimum will increase the area of effect of each Obelisk. Max Satellites = 20.
5) Initiate the Gaia Controller
6) Hold your cities and Obelisks for 10 turns
There is a seperate screen that allows you to see the status of the end-game project. If you want to change this victory, I strongly advise you to actually use it at least once. With the original, unmodded game this is very easy to do and doesn't even take all that much time...

Does this mean that when the ten turns are up, you win the game?
Yes. If you don't meet the requirements you simply won't be allowed to initiate the Gaia Controller, the button that will start it will simply be 'greyed out' ('blued out', in this case) and unclickable.

Hi I love that ending and it is simple yes you need the 60% coverage but every % after that lowers the start up time.

You need the get the Right stuff to the limits in that order to work and it is easy as pie to mod.

I moded it in the holidays to be a temporal realigner pretty cool the gaia frame is in the layouts and I think the strings are in a file in the English folder as for what you need to lower the number of satellites I am still looking.

As well you can alter buildings to serve as controllers and satellites as well as tile imps so the end game is close to 100% modable
