Thank you! Now, perhaps we can put that sordid affair behind us.

Now, I have to actually comment on the topic of the thread: Good job, Vel. Especially since I'm one of the shy guys it appears to have been written for.

Escorts the Lady Ishtar out into the evening air and guides her hand and eyes up toward the night sky, revealing Orion...his belt and mighty sword (some say club), my own signs, Virgo and the Libran scales....the Gemini twins...the seven sisters (distant...faint, and with whole galaxies contained therein, if you look through a telescope), the Great Bear, and a whole host of others....

There are endless stories in the night sky, m'lady Ishtar....we could spend countless hours on those tales alone....

Alright, next question is, How do you find women that aren't attached?

I've made some decent connections (not the best, but whatever, it's better than nothing), and all of them are attached, except for the on who said she was "getting back together with my boyfriend". I still have a class with her, and talk to her and all that stuff, I just don't bother her with the "Wanna go do something ___" stuff.

BTW, still over a year until bars are an option.

what a woman thinks........
Ya know..... i'm not the voice of every woman out there but i'll give a little synopsas of me .... as an example......

I'm 27..... i'm out going online and in real life..... more so in real life and i like to go out and be aroudn ppl.

the plan i'd have:

i'd dress for the occasion. THe club would be something easy to dance in but looks good..... cause YES i wanna be noticed! The other half of dressing up is to look better then the other women.... its true, women do dress up to look nice so men will notice, but they also dress up to outdo other women.

so in the club i see someon who catches my eye..... doesnt have to be the best looking or the best dancer or the best anything....... usually its just a mix of their look...... how well does what they wear go with how they look are they having a good time..... 'always act like your having a good time and that you wanna be there, if you look like you wanna leave.... its not attractive" Then i do the same ... i try to make eye contact..... if he's setting by the dance floor then i'll look his way several times while dancing .... and see if he's noticing me.

Next, we make our way by him..... 'so pay attention if someone walkes by you several times see if its out of thier way to do so .... means they are scoping you' ..... then if he still doesnt notice...... come the non challant touch....... not a big thing but on the final walk by....... you gotta touch his arm his shoulder whatever and make it seem like an accident!

and hopefully at some point during that you can start talking.... even it its started with and 'oh i'm so sorry, i didnt see you there.....' hehe

idk if that helps any but who know?

Gemini...I'm Gemini. :-) That would be cool to see. You've sparked a new interest it seems. Endless stories in the night sky...would indicate that it'd require more than one night to hear them all??

Absolutely yes....we could stargaze until the sun started peeking over the horizon, and then take breakfast somewhere, laze around and nap intermittantly in the early part of the day (since our eyes would be so well adjusted to the night sky, the sun's light would be MUCH to harsh the next day), order takeout for lunch, (impromptu Chinese food picnic?), grab a lingering dinner somewhere in the late afternoon/early evening then strike out once more when the sun sets, and continue our adventure....

To David: VERY cool news indeed! I'm glad it helped! And even better news about your possible connection! That's outstanding! I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed for ya man!

To the Lady Ishtar: C'mon over....the stars await..... As to girlfriends....I rarely lack for companionship at dinner, that's true, tho I fear that a great many ladies regard my poetic intensity as being too much to be around for extended periods--a bit too....how shall I say it...."out there" for most--but....join me for some stargazing and decide for yourself? If your heart matches your thirst for the stars, I'm sure the evening's adventure will be....perfect.

"Poetic Intensity" too much??? What are they...crazy? You've described what I would have to consider a perfect evening. If this is any indication....what's so "out there"? Sounds like a good place to be.

Master Floyd: I can just bet you ARE looking forward to it! Tell us about the lucky lady!?

Rav: ::grinnin' like the big ol' fool that I am:: Heh....I DO like to keep surprising everyone....

Lady Ishtar: Got me blushin' all the way to the bald spot on my head...LOL What can I say? In my experience, most ladies say that they *adore* that kind of intensity (and the kind to be found in the poetry you'll find lurking on my website--http://www.angelfire.com/sc2/hartpence --under the link entitled "Vel's world") but when suddenly face to face with it....they enjoy brief stints in that place, but no more. Don't know why that is, exactly....a mystery to me.

At any rate, if the evening sounds like something you enjoy, then you're more than welcome. Stargazing by oneself is not nearly as much fun....

I don't have any problems with women even though I don't play any games. As a matter of fact I am against playing games in this area.

My advice is to be comfortable with and confident in yourself. Just be natural. A little nervousness can be a gigantic asset.

There was an interesting anecdote. Several weeks ago I was waiting for a friend in a subway (called MTR locally) station. When she came out from the station I waved at her to get her attention. There was another woman walking right in front of her and she just happened to look in my direction when I waved. She actually blushed thinking I was waving at her.

Glonk,

Yes I went through that before in a thread called "Geeks as modern day white knights."

Boshko,

Vel~ now you've got me blushing!! No, guys...not a planned conversation. I just thought I'd ask I guy his opinion on how a girl could "get his attention" without appearing ... well...you know. Little did I know that one would actually carry on a conversation with me. :-)

DF: What was it about her that REALLY caught your eye? What kinds of things does she enjoy talking about, and how long have you known her--just met or a long time friend, or a friend-of-a-friend kinna thing? (and btw, brush up on that astrology! )

well...

first thing i noticed was that she looked unbelievably beautifil to me...physically just about the ideal for me...
i've known her in passing this semester...we first met for real when we were assigned a presentation together...we got together to study today, did that for about 45 minutes (she came to me), then just talked for about 2 hours...totally lost track of time....we talked about everything from family, school, and hobbies to past relationships and current status in that regard, w/ a lot more in between...
