! Great Deity start!
Chinese, Deity. Archipelago

This start is awesome, except for a few problems. Your special unit requires horses, and the nearest source is an island reachable by galley, except it is right offshore of an AI.

You share the continent with two AIs, but you'll get to this part first.

That's mind-boggling.

I wish there were an option for "good starts" so Ididn't have to Ctrl-Sh-Q so much.

Wow, is this for real? I have never in countless starts seen such a starting location. For that matter I don't think I've seen that many specials/luxuries in close proximity at all.

Yea. Though I wish it had horses. But thats kind of like wishing that your planetary party lounge had blue bowling pins instead o white. I mean, what is with the "planetary party lounge" anyway. My colonists should be serious, not party animals.

OK, major digression there. India cheats and gets the cows first, but you can build archers right off the bat and they don't have bronze working. So it is easy to take the city from them. I got a leader in a later war with them and I'm gonna rush the GL. Wish me luck.

Sorry, that wasn't clear. I was saying getting the forbidden palace up early is far far more important than getting the GL. You can buy the techs you would have got. IMO the FP is the most important small/great wonder in the game.

I'm playing the game and built the Pyramids. FP wasn't available and I don't want to block the possibility for more leaders. I'm lacking both Iron and Horses. Well, lemme see if I make it.

All you need is 8 cities to make the FP available. If you don't have 8, keep one or two conquered ones, or build some more.

I don't get why having the FP blocks getting leaders.

No in deity is more important to survive... and the techs are unvaluable.

Also, this was a war on my continent, so FP wasn't even useful enough to be a consideration. Thats why the abbreviation confused me.

Unfortunately, the AI built the GL right before I discovered lit.

Lucky you. I had a game where I was trying to figure out how the Romans were kicking my butt so badly. When I traded maps finally, I discovered that they had a "herd" similar to this and they had built 3 cities to take advantage of it. Luckily the rest of their cities didnt have such advantages.
