moo1 tech
has anyone ever noticed that if you don't get to research Anti-Missile rockets, you usually don't get Scatter Pack V and never get Anti-Matter bomb? (and you almost never get Anti-Matter Bomb as the Psilons)

Or is it just me?

I dunno what's wrong with your game, but I don't find any problem with the tech's. I use Klackon most of the time tho, so maybe that's why.

Doesn't have to be something wrong with the game. Maybe scatterpacks in an AM rocket free universe were considered just too powerful by the designers.
Never noticed this myself, it may of course be coincidences.

Strangely, the MOO1 pruned tech tree/bush hasn't been copied in later MOO/Civ games. (But will be in MOO3, I think?) Unpredictable advances, both for the whole universe and on a per race basis, ensured a way more varied and challenging game experience than other games give. While in MOO2 and the Civ variants, you can more or less always win using the same research strategy over and over again, MOO1 forces you to adapt strategy game after game.

Simple and effective.
