But I won't play a game without tech stealing

and that icq chat was from another game (with war4) you ninny!
this is right from my icq history when we set our second game. you refused to play 1x, said you wanted to improve your 2x skills.

I noticed, your incapable of research and must live off of others hard work.

Yes you're right, I did want to improve my 2x skills because I hardly ever play it.

Also I didn't see those games as some sort of world championship.

LOL.

2x small map games are extremly lame.. Everyone builds on a mountain top and well, thats it! No one seems interested in playing past gunpowder.
2x 2x games are even worse, 80% of the games seem to be decided before 2000 BC.
1x 1x games are very dull before cannons & enginers but after that there is far more stratagy then 2x.. again depending on the map.

I agree fully with your views on settings - although if you go the the zone its hard to find players who will play 1x or any setting above King. I started a 1x hordes, deity and people just dropped off like flies.

i played my original game of MP at the zone and met some great people. I cant remember their names now unfortuanlty but there was even one lovely lady!!

But the problem of the time zone difference became too much and i eventually found the aussies group here at poly (Actually it was my post that got them all together in one place)

I have only ever gone back to the zone occasionaly , knowing full well the game will only be one session and probably not even that long... it is a place for fun not championships!!!

Hey Markusf I was looking for you last night. Are you hiding from me?

You missed your chance anyway because I'll be away for the next week.

So? You should be ready to play at any time. That's your problem -you lack commitment.

I'm going to icq you tonight too

Yeah... that is surprising... why quit at that point

That's why I like playing with people I know. We play even if you aren't leading on the powergraph. You give your best for 4 to 8 hours, and you don't drop out because of some bad luck. It's just more fun that way

It amazes me that even at 2x the games are so sloooow. When i first started playing, Me crustation and wonder dog had several 3 player games (1x1x diety raging hordes) where we got to spaceflight in 6-8 hours of play time. Now after 2 years i have yet to see those feats duplicated

zone games do seem to take a long time, there is no need for 40 second turns in 3950bc. i have recently found a way to speed up my moves, most people here probably do it already, i use the number pad. it's quicker, and more accurant that the mouse.

i'm not sure if i was in a game with you Horse, i asked you in king chat who you were, you said alexanders horse, my response was" THE alexanders horse", you said yes, i called you the spaminater, yada yada yada, i don't remeber how that game went though...

ApolytonMaximus is my zone name, too many Maximi were cheaters, so i tried to pick a name that would stick out

Great fun tonight. Hydey is away and Deity wasn't sure if he could play so I set up a game with finbar, Winzity and a few "friends". Then deity showed up so he joined. We had 7 players including civil_isation, civbub and jpclaude.

Civil_isation dropped because his girlfirend had to use the phone

jpclaude dropped because Deity didn't accuse him of cheating

Then someone called The Parrot joined (AKA Markusf)

Finally Eyes showed up

It was a lot of fun, thanks guys

It WAS A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME

No, seriously, it was...

I don't want to spend time in a game that's set up like that!

My God Horsie

It was so ad hoc with players coming and going; AH didn't say it was King Level (what a wooss) and no one else knew until I looked at the Game Profile.... damn coulda been out exploring instead of leaving warriors at home!

---

Regarding jclaud, I simply asked a direct question. This is far preferable to talking behind others backs and spreading rumour and inuendo. I saw all the symptons of what had been described as cheatamatic effects - quick city screens opening, map jumping before trade discovered, etc. I don't know how it operates but based on these strange things happening, mostly during jclaud's turn, I asked the quesation in King Chat. How else can you do it? You have to be direct about this sort of thing.

A few years ago Dangime thought I was cheating when I had the Top 5 cities. He didn't know about WLTPD. So he asked me directly (if a little blunt!) and it got sorted out there and then. There was no lingering doubt. All the players in that game (Diplo 4, I think it was!) discussed it and it was resolved. No one was cheating. I didn't quit because someone thought I was cheating. But last night jclaud quit without proper discussion. He may be innocent and he denied using any cheats, so I accepted that but he should have played on....

" I saw all the symptons of what had been described as cheatamatic effects - quick city screens opening, map jumping before trade discovered, etc."

Talk about stupid. Those have nothing to do with a hex editor you idiot. If someone is hex editing the game you'll never know it unless you look at the saves. You just accused a guy of cheating without even the slightest bit of reason. And if I were him I would have left too seeing as how you're a complete rook.

"AH didn't say it was King Level (what a wooss)"

Considering experts play on King and the only people I know of that play deity are rookies like you, doesn't say much.

"damn coulda been out exploring instead of leaving warriors at home!"

Is that an excuse for your incredibly poor skills in this game? I'm sorry, but there is no amount of knowledge that could ever make you a better player.

"I asked the quesation in King Chat. How else can you do it? You have to be direct about this sort of thing."

Well if you were smart, and you're obviously not, you would have saved the game at regular intervals and then examined the save. However, you aren't the sharpest tool in the shed as is obvious by your statements. I hate stupid people, and you are definitely one of the dumbest I have ever met.

As for my name horse, it was "All my hate". I took it from a Korn song called All My Hate. You should listen to it some time, great song.
