City Screen, hot or not?
HOT.

After searching through "THE LIST version 1/2" I couldnt find anything specific about what the general oppinion was about city screen.
I definitly wants the city screen.
A complete view over city, ex all unit (fortify , sleep, without orders etc.) production, food building. Surronding area.
And the ability to change what there is to change in a city.

Please dont make it like CtP with menus (which means endless clicking all the time).

Im sorry if this has been discussed already, but I just want to make sure that it will stay like CivI.

Hot!
AND with keyboard hot-keys. I played Civ I without a mouse. And (with exceptions) I had a much faster gameplay.
(But I confess that changing entertainers with a keyboard was kind of dull) :P

Oh yeah, I played Civ I on my old 8086 with no soundboard. But at least I had VGA graphics.

Yes, one full screen with all the city stuff on it is much better than lots of separate menus in the corner of the main world map.

I agree, stick with the same civ1/2 interface for the city screen.

HOT!!! Nothing less than an updated version of the same interface they used in civ 1&2 which worked soooo well.

Yep, 'HOT'. The city screen gets my vote of confidence. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

City Screens ala Civ1, Civ2, SMAC definitely! But, add queues (like SMAC, CTP2, Space Empires IV, Moo2) and something like the national manager in CTP2 that allows you to insert/overwrite/append all queues at once is also a must have.

May be? surily there should be an option to turn it off, although I personally never turn off the unimportant-for-gameplay-but-nevertheless-nice features of the game like advisors, heralds and wonder movies. well... except in mp games.

It is HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! as we have all said before. I would like to see Firaxis make the city screen include everything to do with that city, units garriosinned, production, things produced, etc. etc. A city window that had everything to do with that city would be a much needed improvment over the City Mananger and City Build Manager in CtP2.

All right. It's the only Cinema with THX in town, and the Odeon and Warner Village are just so hard and tedious to get to, as well as offering lower-quality theatres and all the crap films. City Screen was the only one to bother showing the reissued This is Spinal Tap, for example.

Oh, not that City Screen. Right.

To clear any mistakes, the thing im talking about is City Screen, like this:
[img]http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Sector/6754/images/city_screen.gif[img] (from civII)

it is not City View.

Both City SCreen and City View are Hot.

But I would appreciate different forms of linkage and tables like CTP had, only better.

Meaning a nation wide manager as well etc. Why limit yourself when you can expand?

Be the collective.

The city view is lame. I never use it, so don't care. The use of tabs in CTP2 wasn't bad but should be minimized.

City screen or something close to Civ 2. City view, if there is to be one make it more like "SC 3000 Unlimited" with 3D Building.
