I can't recall the nomenclature, but it was something like 3294. IBM make them and it had Black, White, Red, Blue and Green. To me black and green did not count as we always had them. Main frame operating systems supported them. Later they went to 7 colors adding Turq, Yellow and Pink. This was around the early 1980's. No PC's yet, except for the kits. MY memory of the timing may be off and the 4 colormay have come in the late 70's and my shop just did not have it yet, not sure.

The first multicolor monitor that I saw was the Apple, and I think it was 16 colors? Kinda pales to what we have now eh?

hrm I've seen Civ2 out in those discount bins for 10 bucks, worthwhile? I played Civ1 a bit, wondering if I should wait for civ3 to hit discount or go ahead and try civ2

You need to get that, and set aside a little time, say a year or so to master it.

Yes get it. I like Test Of Time (I know, I am a Heritic) because it has the original version, all addons, new stuff and the original version with some what update graphics. I still played it regularly until Civ3. I am sure I will get back to it at some time.
