Graphics: (Apr 6) terrain mod by Sn00py!
Sn00py's terrain mod has been released! You can view the thread at CivFanatics here and if you are having problems locating the download it is near the bottom of the page. You could also click here to download if all else fails.

This new terrain mod is by sn00py, and it kicks ass! I love the water!

They look excellent! One question, tho - Can I use this to mod my game without the resources with the letter next to them? I'd be content with just the resource as it appears in the default, the letter next to it is a bit distracting... Is there a file to exclude for this?

The resource icons aren't touched by this mod, only the terrain graphics. The resource icons in the example picture were because he's using another mod for that one, so you're safe.

I actually prefer your older terrain graphics. The mismatched Mountains are not good, the trees in the rivers and floodplain are distracting, and I miss the irrigation graphics (Did you ever do one for Tundra? I don't have it and have been using Zeb's which doesn't quite fit...).

You are still the terrain master, though - cuz nothing else out there even compares do your work!

I'll try finish them today, because I'd like to get them done and move on to some unit creating. It's quite time consuming doing the cities, but luckily the hard parts are out of the way, I only have to do 3 more industrial eras, add a bit more life to Euro and touch up the smaller cities (which doesn't take long at all).

Amesjustin, when I started making these graphics, I said to myself that I will not try to please everyone else but myself; this way if someone complains, I don't have to feel that I should do something about it. What I have given you now, is what it is and what it always will be, I'm not going back to fix anything or redo anything. Because I am happy with the way it is now. The reasons why I put tree's on rivers is so that the river doesn't float, the reason tree's overlap the coast is because if I made the tree's smaller, they wouldn't clump together like they do now and the reason the mountains aren't all grey is because not all mountains are grey in the real world, so it makes for some correct variety and kills the dullness.

I will be doing a completely new graphics mod soon, I think i'll call it "CleanMod" because thats kind of what it will be like. It'll be like some girls fairytale utopia where everything is perfect.

btw I did do the irrigation for all the terrains required, but I didn't include them in the graphics mod becoz I didn't much like the colours I used, I want to go back and redo them.

Snoopy,

Didn't mean to upset you, just throwing in my 2 cents... You are the best at the terrain graphics. Sorry.

Is that snoopy's original terrain mod, or is it that one that he was working on recently (that he posted a picture of not too long ago)? I already have the original version, if that's what that is.

I am looking forward to clean mod, looks nice, especially the river and little cute trees, ahhhh, like settlers (2, i hate the later ones!)
the city in the middle fits in white well imo
it also looks more isometric, like form a higher point of view
i would put it in "terrain2" folder to alternate
when will it be ready?

Hey Sn00py, just tried your latest MOD. I don't know what you did to the water, but it's incredible. Specially the coasts, I'm speechless.
I wonder if there's any job openings at Firaxis for REAL artists...

Hey Sn00py, any news on the clean MOD?
Would it be possible for you to make partial releases as soon as you complete, for example, the trees or the jungle?
