440AD a brief history...
200AD:All rehoming and most city request got done. They didn't enhance our situation but they made it more clear where the problems lie...everywhere.
Phalanx from Balsindia goes hunting down the barb leader but it just dissapears into thin air...
I got lucky and got a peacetreaty with the Americans.
I tried a first time to exchange knowledge with the Indians but they just laugh at our emmisary and demand that we give them Republic...no way.
(I would really like the opinion of evrybody over this problem: everyone asks for republic--> can we risk giving it in hope for an exchange.)

220AD: The happiness-plan for Paha Sapa failed misserably...we still need 1 more unit to get enough martiallaw happiness.(2red + 1 black is not good to start from)
There is a second attempt to exchange knowledge with the indians => same result they just ignor the fact of exchanging techs.

240AD:Babylonian trireme attacks our trireme, our trireme becomes veteran.
The babylonians are very agressive and will be a pain(they are also very far away,so we can't punnish them easilly )
Our wise men discover Polytheismeč more bad news: options for research: Banking, The wheel, Feudalism & medicineč start researching the wheel(goal invention)
Romans are really frightened that we would land military units near Rome+ there was a city hidden in our shadow(bribecost=540G==> so we can't afford it(one plus they just keep fighting the Indians) --> see image below
Our silkroute to Rome pays of nicely==> 144G

260AD: since NO-ONE asks for spice(and the find city option does not know about the excistance of babylon) I decide to deliver it to Rome to instead of letting our trireme be on his way to who knows where for who know's how long.-->got 36G not much but something.

280AD: rushbuy citywalls in Citadel and barraks a few turns later.(you can't be carefull enough.

320AD:2. wise men discover the wheel==> we can go for monotheism(altough beakercost went up a lot--> need >500 beakers(and the one befor only needed <400)
More bad news barb uprising near kIndalia--> Rushbuild Walls+ put Phalanx in woods as first defence vs the 2 chariots
Beads caravan to BomBay==>208G(and 208 beakers
but we still need >300 )

340AD:Umbra was founded and starts out with a red face
The Phalanx died under siege of the chariot the ppl of the empire mourn a full week over the loss of these nobel men.

360AD:Pop hut near delhi--> wandering nomad

400AD:Barb leader killed==>150G ppl dance in joy in the streets of kIndalia they have had their revenge.

420AD:3. sold our citywalls in kIndalia--> rushbuild Lighthouse in Nove Hispania(thereby beating the AI to it and making sure we get faster boats and unsinkable triremes

I trust our esteemed president is going to share the save with his ministers?

It seems everything is as well is it could be. Strange about our population. We must build more cities, but not immdeadiatly. We can wait for the Chapel.

I Wonder...
Quote:
Here you have a view of the Roman Empire and our glorious cvity of Nova Hispania which build the Light House. You can also see the city that the Romans had hidden in the shadows of Citadel.hrt

Curious... Our esteemed President has rush-built the Lighthouse without pausig to ask his Advisors or poll the ppl! After all the talk of Mike's and discussion of the odd location to build the Wonder, this is indeed a very sudden change. I can only assume that it was about to built by some strange and foreign ppl...

Don't get me wrong, Mr. President. Our territory is watery and to thrive, I agree that it pays to rule the waves. I just thought that any change this big would be democratically discussed.

And I must say, I am shocked at the revelation of a Size 5 Roman city, Neapolis, suddenly appearing in our territory. Now our clever chokepoint fortress has become a city squeezed between two larger, more powerful foes. I can only assume this happened during the previous administration. Oops, President shade was Military Advisor at that time.

Suddenly, this game is getting interesting.

Where are our Diplomats? Much needed, virtually none built. This will be a far more cost-effective defense than building city walls and/or multiple phalanxes everywhere.

What say you, Hydey?

Yes it was almost finished by someone else and since I had 2 cities building wonders I took the one with the bad location to use it for something we can really use in our world.

Quote:

1) buy some new glasses
2) they are under constant attack by the Indians,if the city wasn't there they probably would have both turned against us.
3) it was under dark territory and I warned for the possibility and predicted how big it's tread would be==> almost nihil

they don't add to martial law and are very expensive if you know I can use warriors to get that martial law immediatly(20G rushbuildcost vs 150G rushbuildcost)

Mr. President, I'm confident that you're fully on top of the situation and that our city now with walls and barracks!) will survive, er, I mean, THRIVE under your leadership.

2. A glace would be a cold, sweet fruit-ice confection. Sounds great!! I think I'll go have one.

The sign of a good Prez is that he can silence his critics...

Well defended, shade. For the record I (and others - ie it wasn't a unilateral decision by shade) agreed on the construction of Citadel - it was a good idea with the info we had at the time... benefit of foresight ... never happen again... << more political rhetoric >>

I also pledge my support for building of the Lighthouse - it makes Navigation less urgent and hasn't cost us our chance at Mike's. And it's cheap for a Wonder.

And until we get Mike's, happiness is a MAJOR priority, distant wars are not!

President Shade: I fully support you, including, but not limited too:
-Rush-buying the Lighthouse
-The construction of Citadel
-The production of walls and phalanxes

I did recieve the save, but I haven't had a chance to look over it yet. I hope to do that by tomorrow morning, after which I will post any polls that are needed (none should be), and forward my report.

All advisors should send a report of some kind to the president. It makes it easier for him, so he doesn't have to read every single thread looking for something ("hmmm, well maybe the reports in the OT under this thread about MBTs").

All advisors should send a report of some kind to the president.
I have no problem reading the threads(read them almost all) but it's always nice to get a compilled report, you never know what the advisor decides or how he interprets the polls.
If there is nothing to say just say it:" no orders" no problem with that.

I think the next round might be quite interesting.

I have to admit that I was initially surprised to learn we had built the Lighthouse. However, since some other Civ was apparently about to complete it, I think that was a good defensive move. We *do* have a few more turns before we can build Mike's anyway; I just hope there isn't another Civ ready to build it before we have the chance to rebuild the Caravans used for Lighthouse. If we don't get Mike's, we are in serious trouble.

A quick look at our cities suggests that Sodaq will have 100 shields in about 6 turns, so 6 Caravans will be needed. There are 2 in Sodaq and 1 about to be delivered. 3 more needed. 2 of the Caravans are well on the path to completion (though 1 is in a low-shield city).

We probably won't see Mike's built until the end of President Shade's next session. Well, it can't be helped. We are digging our way out of a severe unhappiness problem and our expendable resources are limited.
