Foreign Ministers report

We still only have 1 embassy which is with the Indians , we would like to have more and have 2 diplomats in positions to build embassies with the Romans and the Babylonians if the masses wish (see poll).
Spies in India working out of our embassy report that they are still in Despotism , have 5 cities (we can see 4 on the map) , have 386 gold and they are researching the wheel. They have no techs that we don’t already have .

We currently have 2 diplomats in the field, 1 in citadel which I would like used to build an embassy with the Romans and the other is right next to the Babylonian city of Ellipi and I would also like that to build an embassy there.

The above poll is asking if we build those embassies and also if we build diplomats to build embassies with the Americans and Egyptians as well. I believe we should as it helps in giving information to the peoples of our democratic civilization.

Foreign Minister Hydey.

We are at war with the Americans and Babylonians , without embassies I can’t give you too much information about there strengths , types of units or city numbers, they are both far enough away to not be much of a threat to our homelands until they get better boats and attacking units.

The Romans and Babylonians we may be with for the long haul, especially since we are hoping to trade with them. The Military want to attack the Americans, who seem to be stuck in one or two cities, and thus a diplomat might not be worth the time and effort involved in sending it over there specially.

The Egyptians should perhaps be the lower priority contact, so of course we should endeavour to get a diplo in, but make it the next diplo made.

nope only babylonians.
thx to me

2 little things I would like to ask
1) don't use the Citadel-diplo for an embassie,I think he is of better use for counterspionage and possible bribing sabotaging in a sneakattack.
2) no embassie with the Babylonians=> they are just warmongeres and always declare war, whatever I do(ie if I don't give techs,gold,...) => I'm not sure but I thought an embassie is canceled when you go to war==> it would be a waste.
It might be good if I start building some more diplo's.

On the other hand the Egyptians seem interesting, because they are I think the second most advanced.

No you do not lose the embassy with war , you can still check what techs they have, how many cities they have , what government they are in, how much gold they are in etc etc etc. All very handy information to be able to give our public who vote us into office.

In that case the final assignment of the diplo will be to get an embassy(if you and the population approves ofcourse) but first some reconaissance.

I'm sure we will get a unit from one of those huts on the coast in the next turn or so that could be used for the reconaissence.

that's an if ,you know I don't like those, because they tend to go the other way.But if it's so...then it's ok.

I do want to see an embassy with the Romans, but I think the existing unit should be held back for defense until another is built. The need is not great until we decide to subjugate the infidels.
