The Ruby Ridge incident was on an April 19, I believe. No one has told me straight yet ( Americans!), but from what I can gather it is either: 4:20 being the time (American) cops change beats - and thus you got time for a  ; or 420 being a police call-out for something to do with a minor drug offence.

The 420 police code thing was a myth.
No one really knows where it comes from, but the most supported theory is some kids in the 60s in California would do it at 4:20 every day, and then they got older and just got together once a year to do it, on 4-20.
