Will there be hotseat support in the XP? I would love to play my friends on my own comp.

Yap. I think the same. For this option I love the HOMM series. Are the best.

If they don't include Hotseat and PBEM they're insane. They are the most popular ways of playing TBS.

Heroes of Might and Magic. Quite a fun series to play. Released IV a few weeks ago. Turn based. Fantasy setting. You have heroes and cities which have buildings that raise your armies. There are resources and artifacts and other cool stuff that really make the games a lot of fun. You could probably pick up III or even II for cheap right now, quite a lot of fun. highly recommended

I was never crazy about HotSeat... when the turn switched, you could very well get attacked and beaten and not even know it till it was your turn again. Not to mention that the AI handled discussions between the human players... stupid, just stupid. Now, LAN and internet, that's where its at!

1) Hot Seat is very very important. It's the heart of the game.
That's why HOMM is so popular.

2) Dom Pedro II, how many years have passed? Come back to the OT

Hotseat in the civ 2 gold edition were very badly done. But hotseat is still the best way to play these kinds of games multiplayer. Just look at what Age Of Wonders did to hotseat gaming, that is great.

I hope they put some effort in it, after all, the other improvements are mostly useless, new civs ? They are pretty much alike anyway, not like in SMAC...

Hotseat is the way to go, that lets you and friends compete in the same room, that way when you wipe them off the map you can laugh in thier scrawny little faces! HAHAHHAHAHHAHHAHA!!!!

10 months before, when both MOO3 and Civ3 were in development, I was dispointed that MOO3 won't have hotseat MP (because of RTS combat). Still, I was happy that Civ3 had hoteat planned in the game.

Unfortunately, they cut all MP from game the due lack of time.

But,

I realy

think

that

giving

HOTSEAT

in patch

for free

would be

a good

idea,

since

same

is done

with

both

SMAC

and

CTP1

civman2000:

I read your signature. You're not the only person who enjoys playing every civ himself simultaneously, especially in a scenario.

I do the same thing myself.

Exactly!

It's also fun to control the civs in a scenario, say WW2 for example, and make them behave the way they did historically. Call me weird but it keeps me off the streets at night.

I used to play hotseat games where I be all countries, I would wipe a country out, then make another country have a civil war so that I could come back

That would be a problem. The only thing is, the way the AI in Civ 3 is set up, you'll be used to cheating opponents .

On Chieftain you have the advantage, so in a way, you're a cheater. On Deity the AI cheats like hell.

I am also only playing regent for the exact same reason. The AI should be skillful, not a cheating sore loser.
