BLITZ flag is USELESS if units doesn't have more movement points.

Blitz == can attack as manu times as it has movment points

==> Horsemen & Knight Armies are more powerfull then before
(this is NOT unbalancing)

Example--An army of 4 Cavalry attacks a city--If the first attack succeeds then you will be allowed to attack again-up to 4 times.
If however the first cavalry fails it will retreat and the next unit will resume the battle. In this case then you would only have 2 attacks after that.
I didn't know that - I actually stopped using armies once stacked movement came out. This certainly makes armies worth having.

Well, plenty of poorly explained and thought out aspects of armies. Thanks Firaxis. Should have been a lock together army ability more similar to ctp, but didn't go that far. Still, armies can be quite potent despite flaws. I find them almost a must for civs w/ no early game UU's who find themselves in an early dogfight, especially the Germans. Later, if things are going swimmingly, I like to stick them in my capitol or forbidden city as ceremmonial guards. Or, if things start getting hairy before they are too terribly obsolete, just kamikaze them as last ditch assault or to soften up opposition. An army of samurai can take down more advanced units quite often, actually. I modded armies to all have blitz and zoc. Actually works too. Still I think the whole concept was poorly thought out and implemented. What the hell is it supposed to represent historically anyway?

Of course not.
Product is in beta stage before it goes gold.
Civ3 done gold in October 2001.

Now, you can argue is finished Civ3 of "beta quality" or not.

Hang on. Armies attack more than once a turn? Blitz? I don't think so. I just had an army comprised of 4 Modern Armour. They didn't move that turn and the whole army was only allowed to attack once.

Did it lose any MA's during the attack?

Since 1.21 came out I have always been able to blitz with armies.

Saw an AI civ with 14 spearmen - and 18 mechanized infantry.

How stupid and unrealistic is THAT??

Well, a Spearman knocked it down to yellow. A Spearman!?! But they didn't die - they just spread the damage.

And after you beat the spearman you couldn't move. An army could in theory lose two of the MA's and only have the one left and still be yellow.

However losing to a spearman sucks ass.

If I did lose some of the Modern armour, shouldn't I have seen the death flcs (which I didn't)?

As for armies, I like them as is, but couldn't you use the editor to make them available from the outset (or at least tied to a very early advance) and at a reduced cost? Be interesting to see how a game thusly modded played out.
I've had this idea as well. I think it would be very interesting to try a game with Armies able to be built very early, and costing something very low, like 10 shields. Thus a lot of your military would be in Armies.

(As always you have to worry about how the AI can adapt, but from the posts I read it seems the AI adapts to changes like this pretty well.)
