Ashley was given the green light to go home.  We are still waiting for the final resutls but her fever has been down for 48 hours and she's eating so they said so long!  Her main thing was the mutant strain of Strep as far as we know. She returns to the doctor on Thursday for follow up and resutls.
I would like to thank everyone who expressed their good thoughts and well wishes.  I will always belive in the power of good thoughts. 
And on that note, to the one who expressed the negative thoughts towards us.......well, isn't it amazing what so many peoples good thougts can do to cancel out one persons negativity. It just goes to show you....once again proving the theory to me that good thoughts will always rule and Ashley is living proff of it.

Actually I was going to post her picture this afternoon when I get off work so that you may see who you've been keeping your kind thoughts for. Maybe I get her to post a bit. She's really quite beautiful if I do say so myself.  No.......mom's not a bit biased at all
She's been asleep most of the day and her ear is still acting up, but she is on the mend and that's what counts.

Did they ever reach a verdict on the cause of her illness?
The thing that was in her hand is known as a "Hep-Lock". It's the end of a plastic catheter with a small amount of anti-coagulant known as heparin in a reservoir to keep it rom becoming clogged with clotted blood so that it can be re-used as an IV site if needed.

No, not beyond the Strep G, they keep telling us that by Thursday they will have the results of the Blood Cultures. Dr. Strange does it usually take 4 days to grow a blood culture? The tech had mentioned something to that effect. I guess it just depends on what they are looking for.

Yes it can depend upon what's being grown. Fungi can take weeks to months to grow in culture. Bacteria usually are grown for 24 to 48 hours, but after the culture is grown it is then run through batteries of tests to identify the species, and then tested against a battery of antibiotics to determine which will be the most effective.
