Do all AI's hate the Iroqois?
Is it just me or do the AI's seem to dogpile the Iroqois early when played by a human? Ever since the first Iroqois game I played, unmodded and straight out of the package, it seems every game I've had, I got seriously jumped real early regardless of my actions. That's ok if I have horses as I can cut them all down with much gusto and conquer huge swaths of territory w/ hordes of MW's. Lots of fun, early conquest potential on par w/ militaristic civs.

I don't know. I've only played the Iroquois once which was right out of the box, and the AI civs did not gang up on me AFAIR. I wonder if the AI knows when a civ is expansionist and reacts to that civ's predisposition?

In my last game (and best to date) I played as the Iroquios and did not have any wars until the 1800's. (maybe because I had the most culture and largest military)

Maybe, the AI just doesn't like you! J/K Seriously, it seems like India is always tracking me down and attacking me in everygame their in. It's probably the same thing: dumb coincedence.

Hell... I hate the Iroquois! If anyone is going to sneak a city in between two of yours before they expand their borders, it's those damn Iriquois. Maybe I should try playing as them...

hi ,

well , if you look in the editor , it would do a lot , ....
however it tends to be , their "attitude" and the fact they get a mounted super unit early on , ........ as for the rest ; they are commies , nothing wrong with that , but a lot of civ hate them , ..

not to say that 9 out of 10 they start next to the US ,...who hate commies , ...

have a nice day

Guess its the way I play 'em. Anybody notice the Egyptians being the AI darlings in many games? Have'nt played them a lot, but they seem to be able to bamboozle all others into thinking they are so wonderful, even as they act like a$$holes. I hate thise simpering yellow bastards. Have to play'em more

I have found this.

The egyptians are gracious allies.
The iriquois are idiotic warmongerers.

Yeah, must say, when dealing w/ 'em from vantage of strength, I managed to keep them and, ironically enough, the Iroqois, as allies for 2/3 of an eventual UN victory. I was the Babs, we had a three way MPP. Egys starte munungously powerful and I had to catch up and pass them. Had to constantly throw money and an occasional tech their way to keep them quiessent. Iroqois were the third wheel in the "ironclad alliance". I was actually going for the cultural victory, but as so often happens, bumbled into something other than my goal when MPP'ed the Russkies and the Frenchies attacked. Next thing I know, its UN vote time and didnot feel like voting against myself.

hi ,

well why dont you put more details , or even better , zip the game and attach in the thread , so we can understand the situation better , ..

however it seems that the AI chose's a couple civ's early on , that he thinks has the best chance to win , it all depends on the possibilities the AI has with those civ's , maybe the change over the game (possibilities , opportunities , resources , tech , etc) , ...

given this topic , some people started games in different era's as Iroqois , ......we shall let ya know , ....

have a nice day
