Aren't all Air Bombardment lethal? If not to all, than at least to most.

panag, theres no such thing, and there wouldnt be.

you cant "bombard" other planes, because when its your turn theyre all landed.

what i THINK your trying to say is you want air units to be able to lethal bombard, but they can already. enable it the same way you did the artillery.

Well, no lethal bombardment forces you to develop a more complicated strategies in such a way you need some invasion troops.

On the other hand, the possibility of a lethal bombardment can be useful in order to create scenarios (when it will be possible, of course). The more possibilities the funnier games.

Lethal bombardment is already possible with the 1.21f :
In the editor, go edit your planes (or any bombing unit)
Check the "lethal sea/land bombardment"
Voilà ! Now your unit has a chance to completely destriy an enemy when bombing it.

If you mean by "lethal air bombardment" the ability to attack and destroy planes when they're on the ground, I like the idea for its scenarios capabilities. I won't play with it in a normal game however (as I play without any lethal bombardment at all)

there is, air units can lethally bombard land units. you juist have to turn it on the same way you turned it on for other units

i personally dont use lethal land bombardment, but i think bombers could sink ships, so they do

I made Fighters with lethal sea,
and Jets, F-15 and Stealth Fighter to be both lethal land & sea.

This makes them some sort of TACTICAL bombers, which they are in real world.

(and makes F-15 pretty good UU)

And they are not unbalancing since they have poor bombard rating and ROF (although I upped ROF for Fighters & Jets to 2)

Had no problems with lethal bombardment turned on.

I recently upgraded to WinXP Pro (the school had it for only $99, so it was a steal).

I have no problems with Civ3. Here are some things to look out for in WinXP.

1: You don't need compatability mode, unless you are using an older video card, such as those from 3DFX (I had to buy a new card).

2: Make sure you are in 1024x768x16-bit res before starting the game.

3: Turn off, or sign off any and all other apps from the system tray. Some programs may interfere with the game.

4: If an error report generates, ALWAYS allows windows to send it. It'll help MS in making better compataibity modes on the WinUpdate site.

5: Only run 1 CivEdit.exe at a time. Running more then one (in both Win98 and WinXP Pro) causes the graphics to be corrupt unless I exit and start again.

Hope this was of some help to you. If you still can't get Civ3 to work, take my advise when it comes to running old DOS games. Buy a second hand computer. But instead of getting one with Win3.1 for DOS games, with one with Win98 or Win98.

Too bad I don't have one.

Back on topic. One reason for Lethal bombardment not working, is that the unit was already bombarded by another unit. I've seen this in 1.21f, on both Win98SE and my upgraded WinXP Pro.
