Succession Game
why don't we play a civ II succesion game?? A succesion game is when one person plays about 10 -20 turns of the game and then, posts the save game as an attactment here and the next person downloads it and plays the next 20 turns and so on and so on..

Yes and no -- there is no reason a succession game cannot be plyed in any version (I understand ToT is very popular) its just that the majority of the interested players only have MGE -- get one started in 2.42 and I for one will leap on the band wagon.

Another reason is that a majority of the recent SCs have been based upon Scenarios - and of course there are far more for MGE than for 2.42

When there is a succession game there is (often) a Brenzaida
I think we should have this discussion in the general forum, rather than the strategy one.
Many succession games have been played this last monthes, the one not yet finished being the sci-fi one and the hellenistic one.
I would gladly start another one, either in 2.42, fw, mge or Tot

Welcome Mercatia - you will enjoy ACS - and your civ will undoubtedly improve - we try and treat the few ladies that come here with a modicum of courtesy ...

We do? What ladies? Please provide even one example...

I think I have 2.42 somewhere around here, but it isn't installed...

This looks fun and I'd love to join, but I have only MGE -- for Macintosh. Can that work?

Game
If we have one it should be on civ2 with nothing else, nop fantastic worlds, MGE etc. As well with the latest patch. I'm guessing that 2.42 is that. we'll need about 3-4 players. and keep it the succession game here not general.

O.K about the game settings, what are your preferences? e.g what civ? and what map size? and how many civs to play agianst? i think you get the idea.

Count me in - definitely prefer deity.

Fearless Mage - it's your game - please start a new thread in General - you might like to look at the first few posts of the two (nearly) current SGs - Invasion planet Earth & Hellenistic Age to see the sort of thing that people need to know in order to get started.

-JRabbit - unfortunately although a 2.42 game can be opened in MGE it cannot be saved in anything but MGE and then it cannot be played by 2.42 people - perhaps you too should start another MGE game off and see how many takers you get?

From past experience in succession games, you may have trouble finding players if you don't go with Deity. My comfort level is Emperor, but I can win Deity, sometimes. However, for a lot of the people here, anything less than Deity is a real cakewalk; thus, not as much interest in King/Emperor....
