Firaxis, we want REAL answers!
Firaxis have distracted people for long enough with a inconsequential debate over 'civ-specific units'.
In doing this, they have cleverly avoided the REAL question civ-fans want answered. WILL CIV HAVE CIV-SPECIFIC BONUSES LIKE IN SMAC, AND MORE IMPORTANTLY WILL THEY UTILISE A MODEL WHERE THE PLAYER THROUGH HIS ACTIONS DECIDES WHAT BONUSES HE GETS???
I challenge FIRAXIS to answer this question...

*Sigh*. This kind of screaming and whining does no one any good at all.

Firaxis has the right to answer or not answer our questions as they wish according to their marketing strategy and their time-constraints.

This is exactly the kind of post which would deter any Firaxis employee from visiting the boards and interacting with the community.

They certainly do have the right to not answer questions. I am not 'screaming' for them to ANSWER either! What I am doing, is keeping the issue alive in the gamers minds, as well as in Firaxis's minds, in the hope that they keep working on this aspect of the game. The 'screaming' over civ-specific units (ability to turn them off) was heard, and I am merely writing in an explosive form to catch Firaxis's attention in the mire of less important issues and downright stupidity (see the 'prank' Sid cancells civ3 project!). I realise FIRAXIS have limited time to read posts, and also realise explosive posts are more likely to be read...

Um no. I can assure you that your questions are more likely to be answered if they are politely asked. Firaxis doesn't answer that many posts here but you will notice that those they do bother with are NOT "explosive posts".

In any case there have been several threads on this topic. If Firaxis wanted to tell us they would have by now.

Just have patience.

It's funny the one question I want a firm answer on is the one they will not answer, like how many civs players are there in the game?

Shh, no need to scream...

BTW: Your question has already been answered by Firaxis in the thread about unique civs. The civs will have specific bonuses like in SMAC, but it will be possible to turn them off. They have chosen the best of both worlds.

You know I can't let you get away with this Like the original poster requests, there should be abilities that can develop during the game so that civs differ from game to game depending on circumstances and player choices. There are more than two worlds, and they haven't chosen the best one

Which wonder of the world allows me to build a panzer tank?

It is an extension of the WoW concept that is already in the game that I am looking for. Otherwise "unique" civilisations might as well come with the predetermined right to build the wonder of the world associated with them too.

Yeah wonder-specific units would be quite cool. I think that might be doable through mods. I believe the Medmod in CTP2 has this feature.

i return this thrad to its normal debate again after saying that the King should be one of the advisors. He was one of the very few atmosphaire things that were good in Civ 2 (after you had taken out great things like replay, newspaper clips etc from Civ 1
