Hapoon III can be bought off the Internet, it is Harpoon II which only worked in ms-dos, to work in Windows, and updated with a database for/after 2000.
Hapoon 4 may come out, may..........
Here's a link to Hapoon III, and Hapoon was out in 1989, and still is the best naval game that can be played, I guess.
The Navy (some personnel) play Hapoon and have been since it came out.
Link to Hapoon III (and I never got around to making the superduper half-world map WWIII, which would take even a faster computer to play since I wanted to include the kitchen sink.
Anyone with a supercomputer!
Just joking!
Made mainly for smaller scenarios, but the maps are really nice, when half the world is there, still one has to look up where bases are in the world, what kind of ships and planes other countries have, but then the database is worth it in the game, just to look at -- what other countries have in the world.
A few things missing like Airforce I and the Russian counterpart and any other country, if they have one.
Play it with logistics, air refueling and everything.
The AI lacked a little in Harpoon II, but maybe that was redone a little.
Just think of being on a ship in the middle of the ocean, somewhere, when the alert goes off, they found you, and fired their missiles from 300 miles away, and of course, they are big missiles, and you may be dead!
But I learned quite a bit about warfare of the modern world and navies of the world.
Well, enough, here's the link :
