The lack of sportsmanship on this thread is astounding.

So what is considered the bigger upset. The US's win or England's win.
Be careful how you answer because some people might translate this into who sucks more

Hard to say, RAH. Will have to wait for Portugal's next games to tell, and also Sweden vs. Argentina.

Get yourself a World Cup pull-out from somewhere and find out. It used to be France, Brazil, and Argentina; but it's unlikely that either of France or Argentina will qualify.
Argentina need to beat a solid Sweden in their last game, while France need to beat an equally solid Denmark by two goals.

Well I would like to see England win, but most England fans I talk to always expect to lose.

Cali,
For sure, many England fans have seen decades of under-achievment .. 1990 was close, but apart from that ...
Another interesting fact I just saw on the BBC,
only 2 teams have managed to knock England out of the world cup since 1966
W.GERMANY
ARGENTINA
I Say common .. England/Ireland .. and why not .. USA ..
Personally, I think Italy or even Spain will win this cup .. but I believe we can beat anybody IF we play at our best.

I will be cheering for England then. Its about time they won it again. Have they ever made it to the final since 66?

Almost any team can beat any other team in this WC if they play good. That's what have been best with this WC thus far. England played like hens against Sweden and then played a good and solid game (or so i've heard since I couldn't see the game) against a favorite.

What part of the word Hen don't you understand then? It simply means that they ran around like headless morons. I would think that hens act about the same all over the world or are hens in England your intellectual leaders.... oh wait Thatcher... more like a c ock though...

No .. the best we did was semi finals in 1990,
we lost to Germany on penalties .. and they went on to win the cup.
overall we came 4th place.
This was the English team Im use to, deadly in counter attack, solid in defence .. with the occational wobble here and there to keep our hearts in our mouths ..
Sweden was terrible .. but full marks to Sweden for comming back in the second half .. they are no push over ,just as Argentina are not .. I really look forward to the Sweden Argentina match, that will be classic.
