Does anyone here play Mage Knights?
Besides me, that is.

It's a miniautres-based game using plastic figures with changable stats listed on dials on the figures' bases.

My brother got me into this mess.

That's a 'no', then?

I like to think of it as dumbed-down warhammer.

I prefer to think of it as "comprehensible warhammer".

I've given up on miniature wargaming. My 15mm Romans, Byzantines, Celts, Pontics, Egyptians and Arabs have been sold. My 25mm Fantasy armies have been whittled down to a manageable number of RPG props. These days I only play DBA which doesn't require anywhere near the number of figures and a good multiplayer campaign involving a dozen battles or so can be wrapped up in a day of play.

Mage Knight is sort of a cross between miniatures wargaming and fantasy card gaming. The figures are sold five in a box, with no way to determine what's actually in there without opening the box. The rules are quite simple, and a standard game is supposed to last fifty minutes -- that is to say, it's on a timer. Not that you have to; my brother and I seem to always go for 'last man standing' games with no time limit.
