New Civilizations
Have they announced all the civilizations, their leaders, and unique units for Play the World?

If not, what all is known so far? (I'm tired of running into sites like Gamespot & IGN that expect me to pay to find out about the expansion pack)

Off the top of my head Spanish, Arabs, Mongols, Celts or Gauls, Vikings

Koreans? Hebrews or Phoenician/Carthagenian?

Some of this information might have been inferred from screen shots and confirmed by Firaxis. The last 2 Im not to sure about.

Youd probably do good if you searched the forum, there's been a million discussions on the validity/lack thereof of including these civs and not others. I personally would find the Hebrews civ highly questionable, phoenicians would be a cooler and more influential semetic people.

Proven Civs :
- Spanish
- Mongols

Very probable Civs :
- Vikings
- Gauls / Celts
- Carthaginians
- Turks

Probable Civs :
- Arabs

And a last Civ, about which the debate rages. Will it be the Korean, the Hebrews or the Inca ? Browse this forum, and you'll se it's a question with too many answers (yet)

The only admitted so far are Spanish (Isabella, Conquistador) and Mongols (Genghis, Keshik); others have been given like the names of the leaders and some other screenshots, but only ones actually admitted by Firaxis are Spanish and Mongols.

Since they have promised a second expansion pack, it could be that some of the screenshots show civs that will appear later. Maybe they're working on 16 civs simultaneously.

Yea. If they're releasing a second pack, they have to save some of these civs for later, because Incas are not strong enough to support an XP all by themselves, and they won't have MP to back it up next time either.

So yea, not even the Vikings are proven, since Firaxis could always take them out completely if they wanted to, and replace them. The one's that they've admitted to are the only ones that they can't do the same with.

That list Spiffor made: my prediction is we might see 4 or 5 of those in the final list, and the rest will be saved for the second expansion.

Which is actually a good thing, since we could see more Important-but-overlooked civs like Thailand/Siam, or Byzantium.

A second prediction: One of the currently discussed civs that make it into the final list will be Korea. Why? Because there's a huge game market in Korea silly.

It would be a shame to include the Arabs and leave out the Jews...

If they can't include both then the Inca should be included as the eighth civ.
