Should we create such a position or not?

To form a plan for what the country should do in the future (why can't each minister handle this for his department?).

No. Sounds like Foreign Affairs Minister to me.

A minister of intelligence might be useful in the later eras when the game is so hideously complicated that we will need more people to sort everything out. However, as for right now, no we dont need one when the only tribe we know is the barbarians that come roaring over the mountains every few minutes .

I really wish more of these polls had 'other' choices .

Well my point is this:

While every office has a job of collecting information about rival civilizations in it's field, an Intelligence minister would be reponsible for centralizing and analyzing all the information.

Take the diplomatic intelligence from the Foreign Affairs office, the military intelligence from the Military office, and the corporate intelligence from the Trade office, and "connect the dots".

Obviously it's a useless part in the early game, but in later stages, it's better that there would be one man with a full scope on how are the rival nations doing in all fields.

This should be handled by the Foreign Ministry.

We have a lot of people, people. More participation is better. More people as ministers will keep more people interested longer. That is a good thing.

Btw, I personally suggested to keep this role as a Secretary - not a minister.

That means - not elected by the people, and can be fired at will

Well then, that means this poll will not decide the issue of what you proposed.

hi ,

maybe give some information to the public , ....
when "push comes to shove" , and there is no time to go over lenghty talks , then the office of intel would have all the intel ready , so that the other government body , have to spend hours looking for it , .....

have a nice day
