OCC Question
Supposed you have found an ideal place for an OCC quest in the core of a continent (2 x wine on a river, 1 x Gold, 1 x fruits, city on river, too, no harbor possibility), but there are no other civs on that continent - would you try OCC?
The idea I have is to rush build 2-3 diplos, waiting at the shores for a barb ship to bribe in order to deliver your caravans.

I would say it depends on the map size. If it is huge, you have little hope. On small or medium, you can hope that the other civs will come to your place. You have to build Marco Polo and will lack caravans until some other civ comes onto your continent.
Anyway, you can't know there is nobody on your continent when you settle. Or if you know, you settle a harbor.

There is a comparison OCC game were your city is on Atlantid, isolated and protected from instrusion.
You don't have trade roads, but with MarcoPolo, you can ally and exchange techs.
It's fully playable and winable !

Eh?? Something about cheese and wine and kissing French buttocks? Is this a demonstration of the effects of the Eiffel Tower?

Playing OCC in the middle of a continent isn't such a big deal. See cities on poor terrain. All three of the sites mentioned (West, North, and East of the start position) are not on the coast. You will only have a ship if you can bribe one.

An error has caused the thread to be hidden from the listing. I'll try to bump it…

English isn't the only language on earth. Civilized persons (those who eat with forks and knives AND brush their teeth afterwards) also speak French
- Never mind -
