Foreign Ministers report on the babylonians 1812 ad
Foreign Ministers report on the Babylonians 1812AD

The babylonians are a republic of 3 cities , they have 476 gold in the Treasury.
They have no techs they we don't have and are researching Chemistry (we already have)

City List
UR (capital) size 12 city with city walls, best available defenders are Musketeers and best attackers Crusaders, possible diplomats but no spies. placed 3 squares due east of Akkad.

Nineveh size 5 city with city walls , like UR may have Musketeers and or crusaders at best , placed 4 squares east of Babylon.

Uruk city no discovered yet, last city that the babylonians built and as such may be smaller and less well defended, probably north of nineveh on that river as shown on the map.

My advice would be to use spies to investigate cities (free) and then take out city walls before sending in the troops. I would take out the capital UR first with possible bribing of the other 2 cities.

I agree, I also would love to see a spy investigating the cities first(it's a shame it hasn't happened yet...if so it would be nice of our previous president/premier to tell us what he saw)

btw about the battle-plans(I'll look at the save in a while) I would suggest killing of those Babylonians this first round, and keep status quo with those Carths(ie keep killing their wandering troops with Clads) and try to possition our troops as soon as possible...but no real attack.

I think the 3 cities will fall quickly and we should start our troops on the voyage to carthage. We have mnay troops in the old Indian empire we could spare, leave one riffleman in each cities with the odd cavalry which can be moved from city to city with ease.

We might considder taking Nivineh by force as we have 3 cavalry in Ashur.

I disagree with Hydey about garrisons, looking at the incursion near Dortmund we need more then one unit to defend our newly conquered city's.

Loosing city' to barbs in this stage of the game would be kinda

why use our troops to take a city when those troops could be what we need to finish the capital in 1 turn so we can bribe the little city for almost no gold??
Remember Ur is their capital and the AI tends to stuff it's capital with units I think we can at least expect 4 units there=> when we have 5 cavalry in place we can whipe those 4 out and have 1 unit left to take over the city...if not we can take out even a 5th unit and use one of the rifflemen in Akkad to take over the city if their flag falls(I just hope they don't have 7 or 8 units in Ur)

Thats why we send in the spies first and see how many units are in there.

Get the capital with spies destroy city walls and then use ships to destroy defenders and then to use troops and take the rest of their cities with spies!

I don't want to make it
1) to complicated
2) let the Babylonians suffer to long

You do not get this I mean, that all of the city other than the capital should be captured as they are by spies!
