"Who Fired On The Helicopters?"
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmp...ghan_bombing_3
Sometimes I wish we didn't have such powerful weapons.

Well, "errant" can be taken two ways. Errant in the malfunction sense and errant in that it hit the target but our targeting was errant.

This is not good for PR or for the heroic effort against terror in Afghanistan.
Why do people fire guns in the air at weddings? I'de think the government would warn them. Or we should..

CNN's saying B-52 and AC-130 gunships were called in for air support after some US planes came under AAA fire.
One of the possible scenerios is anti-aircraft fire falling back to the earth.

Anti-aircraft? While I don't know enough to judge, it just strikes me as unlikely.

Afghans often fire guns in the air during weddings and other celebrations.
An AC-130 gunship, a B-52 bomber and other aircraft were involved in the air strikes.

B-52 + AC-130s are common when any kind of air support is needed. When they call for air support (for any aircraft/people under fire), the B-52 + AC-130s are called.

Since I did not support the Operation and bombing in Serbia to the extent it happened, I did support expeling of the Serb army from Kosovo. I still think clinton was "Wagging the dog" on that one.

You're making the assumption that it was indeed small arms gunfire, and not anti-aircraft fire they were supposed to be targetting.

Where are all the terror supporters? No one cries "massacre"? Why dont I see tens of Arab spokesmen on the international news channels calling Bush a war criminal and demanding a trial in the hague?
Oh, there are no Jews to blame here. Sorry, I forgot.

Well, I'd like to wait for the investigation to see whether there was a problem with the bomb or if the pilot simply bombed the wrong place.
And Afghan residents and officials aren't always the best of sources.

Yes our news said it was some kind of accident when they came under AA-fire. Then one things what kind of AA does afghanistan have now (taliban). Hardly any stingers if at all. The most likely would be 23mm, which are almost toys and for close combat like, range being appx 2.5km effective. i find it hard to believe that there would be a regiment of those guys there waiting planes. In any case recon has failed miserably because planes flew over them. What happened after engaging, who knows.. But still with their capacity in weapons this sounds like a bad bad bad mistake. Did the pilot panic? Why did he launch that bomb on the way? Was it a mailfunction? We'll just have to wait for investigation.. I'd like to know why they flew over AA. What failed in there... too bad though.. mistakes happen.

Wow, it didn't take long for the local anti-Arab troll to comment. Never mind that the Afghans for the most part aren't Arabs.
What's wrong with you Eli? 'Poly usually has a positive effect on people, but you've started to sound like a bigot lately.
