ps - as you are new among us, the download is available in the 'current game report' topped thread, however, there is no playing ahead. Go ahead and download, move the sliders around and see the change in results. Just do not move any units or hit the turn button, etc.

I have just downloaded the recent save but I can't seem to go Into that save. Everytime I click to load the saved game, I keep getting the message, not a valid save. Does anyone know what to do here? Also thanks again Godking!

At the moment, our two best tools are money and our army. In the future, we will need to research by our own, in the industrial era we must win the tech race. Just now, it seems useless to me.

I downloaded it last night and had no problems.

Perhaps it is still zipped?

Polly has had problems in the past regarding files downloading.... You may have to look at it and rename it into a .sav file.

Also, did you only download one time, try redownloading and see if perhaps you just got a corrupted version. A hickup on the phone line perhaps.

I am not running .29 due to It has only been realeased for America.

I didn't have to unzip, I just had the file so I added It to the save game folder.

Is the save called Bannana of the Egyptians 530 BC? That Is the file I downloaded on page 3.

I will try and download It again.

Anyway the download should work if you're using 1.21 as that is what the game is played on currently.

I remember getting the same message when I first tried to download the save a few months ago. But that was just because I hadn't updated to 1.21.

Try the banana of the egyptians 430 save from the wednesday turnthread thread. It is probably on page 2 or 3.

You'll notice it's completely useless to raise our research to 70% or less : we research exactly as slow, but we get less money.
You'll also notice rasing tech beyond 70% has minimal impact tech-wise (it doesn't let us research feudalism faster, and the best thing we could get is monarchy in 28 turns), but a huge impact budget-wise : raising our tech to more than 70% would mean an unbearable deficit spending, which will ruin us in about 15 turns.

So, in one word, NO. It's completely and absolutely irrational, when you get to know the figures. It will be worth it only after we have a better infrastructre (marketplaces, libraries, Republic, roads, people...)

You need to download the latest sav which you can find in the first post of the executive reports thread. The current saved game is called Banana of the Egyptians, 430 BC.sav.php. Rename it to whatever_you_want.sav and then you should be able to run it (unless you have some non-English version of Civilization, in which case you're screwed).

I restarted my computer but It still didn't work so I decided to try version .29 and I've managed to load the save game! Thanks to everyone for their support! Anyway I have checked the science budget and It's at 10%. I raised It to 20% and 30%. We would have at least 17+ on 20% and 10+ on 30%. It would be the same amount of research turns but It may be worth considering raising It to at least 20%. We would still be making enough gold and research would get faster over time.

Over time doesn't count. In the future all agree that we need to do our own science. Unfortunately, we do not yet have the infrastructure to do it at this time. Soon hopefully. As the infrastructure is built, rest assured the science will be increased appropriatly. Perhaps next month you would be interested in running for the science minister position? Elections are every month.

The revolution. Lessen the amount of ministers so things can be more organized. The Science Minister really isn't that important. All I have to do is talk to people about what tech they want to research and then argue decisions here on the message board.

There is a time to switch to from money to science. We haven't hit that time, and we probably wont for a long while.
