What's your favorite depressing song?

For me, Pink Floyd's "Hey You" wins by a mile, although Billy Joel's "Captain Jack" deserves honorable mention, as does Metallica's "Fade to Black."

(No reason to make this a poll, since regardless of what options I put on it, two-thirds of the votes would still wind up in the banana category...)

I would say "Avec le temps" by Léo Ferré. It's a bit cliché, I know, but its a great song. On a lighter note, I would say "Don't go home with your hard-on" by Leonard Cohen.

Speaking of S & G, " I am a rock" is a really good depressing song....

And from that era....."Catch the Wind" or "Lalena" by Donovan are really good blue tunes.

Whenever I feel depressed, I always end up listening to TIAMAT and KATATONIA (the metal band), they have lots of nice, depressing stuff

Besides those, I really like the lyrics of SOFT CELL - "Bedsitter":

I second Radiohead's creep. Come to think of it, all of Radioheads stuff is pretty depressing. Another depressing one that comes to mind is Street Spirit.
