Ghengis, you are hired. Make you a deal. Anything over 125/turn is yours. The rest, pay off my debt. This will get me out of debt in 4 turns. If we make under that contact me. I will not be checking in here again, likely, till MrWIA comes back.

It isn't going to make $125 a turn, how about $75.

It should make $40-50 per food (total of 2 food per turn) depending on if everybody sells and how competitive people are. That'll get your debt paid off in 7 turns.

Right now food is selling at $54 and that's with less than half the producers selling.

I also have 1 commerce because I am next to a river on one of the tiles.

Commerce is going at roughly 65 right now, that will be 150-160/turn or so...Right?

If the corner counts as a river than you have a deal but I think when I checked it that tile didn't have a river status. I don't have Civ# at work so I can't check right now.

The ones I posted a picture of in the bidding had one with a commerce bonus. I checked before bidding. Now, do I have different tiles than I thought I was bidding on?...Since someone else gave me the #'s...

Okay it's a deal then, I don't think I checked that tile as you had already bid on it.

Do you realize no ones made any more offers to sell/transact anything in the last 16 posts?

Don't mean to be a downer, but once the computer and car are up and running you might want to have someone look at your spellcheck...........

For those who did not download my Excel file: the current total production of all estates is (assuming no more errors in it.Doubt it but who knows? ):

Food 31
Shields 13
Commerce 17

This means that the minimum default price for food is 28/66 = $42

Since some shields and commerce are stockpiled in the last turn, no minimum price can be calculated but if everybody want to sell their current production, the default prices will be:

Shields 18/32=$56
Commerce 20/40=$50

Looks good to me GF.

All food is lost but shields and commerce not sold are stockpiled.

Do we keep track of that ourselves?

(I suggest we do! Otherwise, you will have a lot of extra work)

so i didnt sell anything? *angry*

this system is messed up. either someone had to buy it at a slightly higher price, or it would automatically be sold at a lower price. o well, but i dont want to have to edit my orders every time the price goes down a nickel.

edit: i produce commerce??? dam*, didnt sell that either!

VOTE FOR COMPENSATION

Here's what I did, I purposely offered a price that would be valid if someone else came in behind be and offered more product. My cushion was only two as I knew I would be checking frequently.

If you think you won't be back for a while, drop the price lower. If you're not going to be checking the threads that often, make a deal with another player to offer your production for you. You can always post your latest offer over theirs. As banker I go my the last post you offered. You don't have to edit, just post a change in your offer.

I offer to let someone manage my land (008 Apolyton NE1 iirc, i know it's 008 if the location is incorrect) and do anything with it except sell it for $175 a turn. It produces 2 food, 1 commerce, and 1 shield a turn. The already stockpiled 2f/1c/1s comes free with the land. I am effectively renting the land. I still own it, but you can sell whatever it produces. Currently, the price is significantly below what the land would be worth by the market values of the 3 commodities. The rent would be effective for 5 turns (minigame turns, there is a difference between them and realgame turns isn't there?) and will then be renegotiated.

EDIT:

Anyone who didn't sell their currency and/or shields last turn has them stockpiled and can sell them this turn. Sorry, but any unsold food was eaten by varmits.

I think jdd has a point. If we could all be here during the last hour before the closure of the turn, prices for all us would settle to $1 below the default price. Unless there is more supply from the nobles than demand. In that case the price would drop to $1.

So, why not ask everybody just to post the amounts they want to sell and to calculate the new default price, as we did now. We then all sell against the final default price (even if supply exceeds demand. Let's say the stuff is exported). Of course, in case the default price drops below his minimum price the noble may still change the amount he sells but that us up to the noble. If he does not have the time he just sells against this low price.

But then it's not a game. Anyone could have posted at the beginning to sell 2 food for $40 and have been safe, but those players that posted higher rates have the opportunity to make more money with the greater risk of making none.

I'll point out that I TRIED to get all the food producers to organize so that we could sell all of our food at the maximized price, but everyone ignored me.

Food trades at a base rate of $100.
Cannot be stockpiled without a Silo.

Shields trade at a base rate of $100.
Maximum stockpile of 10. Warehouses +10 storage.
Can be transformed into buildings at a cost of 1 Labour Unit per shield.

Commerce trades at a base rate of $100.
Maximum stockpile of 10. Warehouses +10 storage.

GhengisFarb: Deal. In five turns, we can either renegotiate a new price or cut the deal completely. If you've successfully started some construction projects after 5 turns, I will reward you in some way.

The deal is effective starting turn 2 (the next turnthread).

You are never save. If everyone had taken part the food price would have gone to $1. You can not do anything with food at this time but sell it and the supply is greater than the demand. That is why I suggested earlier to define an alternative for food.

i see some healthy debate going on... I am happy to leave it in your hands, you seem like a reasonable lot!

but try doing the debate in the other thread, and let this one be for the trades and deals. just to keep confusion down in this thread. thanks!

Exactly, I'm working on some buildings to convert them and will post a poll to decide if we will allow them tonight.

But, let's face it. Nobles never got along, with us backstabbing and undercutting one another it will actually lay a good realistic environment for the game.

Captain, yes I'm confirming.

Government Land Agent Turn 2 Declaration
(In default of other applicants, I am governement agent for now, unless anyonw objects, or someone polls an election; I suggest Turn 15 would be a good time for one.)

Captain has decreed that the State should not produce. Therefore State land is open to LEASING. The State owns the following tiles, and will lease them for 14 turns for the following amounts of money, payable PER TURN. If there is competition for leases, the highest bidder will be favoured.

007 Apolyton NW12 (Mined grass rd) $80
010 Termina NE (Mined grass rd) $80
016 Tassagrad N (Mined grass rd) $80
017 Tassagrad NE (jungle) $20
019 Tassagrad S (grass rd, mine?) $75
020 Tassagrad SW (mined grass rd) $80
022 Tassagrad NW (jungle) $20
027 BHQ NE (jungle) $20
028 BHQ S (jungle) $20
030 BHQ W (mined grass river) $120
031 BHQ NW (mined grass river)$120

The deadline for leases closes at 12:00 GMT on Saturday.

The following salaries have been provisionally set:

Ministers: 150$/t
Deputies: 100$/t
Newspaper Editor: 80$/t
Paper Co-Editor 60$/t
Judges 55$/t
Army Pay: currently 0 (thank God for Despotism!)

Should others be included? Are these salaries reasonable? Feedback please.

The Government currently has no cash, so salaries will not be paid for the moment. Salaries may be paid when the Government acquires sufficient money. Only Public Officials acknowledging their claim to the salary in the Mini Game forums will be considered. (The money still disappears from the treasury, though, as they still have to be paid.)

TAXATION by self-assessment (see other thread) will not be carried out until Turn 16. For now, taxation will be at 10% of initial land cost. Taxation will therefore stand at $1390 per turn for the next 14 turns.

(Edited for taxation figures and clarification on salaries.
EDIT: All Government Agent decisions are being postponed until after the Agent election at the end of this turn )
