I don't think they will do that.

And what do you mean by bad, do they spell wrong?

Then serious one notifies very badly received for the Spaniards, who we perhaps do not pardon, and we do not buy PTW.

You know if you go to the Text folder and find the appropriate file, you'll be able to fix anything you don't like. I realize that you shouldn't have to, but if it really bothers you...

Alfonso: Can you change language to English in the game or are you "stuck with" Spanish?

I doubt that Firaxis actually had anything to do with the translation into Espanol. That would most likely have been Infogrames doing.

Infogrames has done it badly, I hope that Firaxis calls the attention to them.

When I visted spain for a couple a weeks almost exactly 2 years ago this week, I found that there about a dozen different forms of spanish and dialects there. Perhaps that's the problem I think.

Mis más sinceras disculpas, no solo lo hablas, además es muy bueno.

Pensé que seria poco apropiado ponerlo en castellano por la cantidad de Americanos presentes.

Espero no haberle dado mal sentido a la frase, ya que mi Inglés es muy malo.

No, in this case the problem is not that, but thought well, you are right in that.

I'm not that good at Spanish (Mexican Spanish BTW), but I can say this does not look right.

I think Alfonso has a valid complaint here. The grammar should be correct, whatever the language. From what he says, it's like Spanish Civ III has "All your base are belong to us" in it. That's very poor.

The same happens with translated movies, etc... Try the original version, learn languages is always good.

perhaps Firaxis would have to consider that the game must be translated and to give more facilities, since there are words that leave the boxes or they do not fit well

That's even worse than the grammar being poor.

This really should be fixed, yes. The windows look horrible and the grammar is poor at best.

I wish I knew where to direct a complaint. Odds are very good that Firaxis didn't translate the game... but whoever did did a real hack-job with the code. Bad form.

Infogrames is responsible for translating the game. Obviously, they did a very poor job. There are always going to be minor mistakes and differences, but civ3 seems to be a bit half-assed.

Well, though that's true (there are some different languages in Spain), actually, everybody speaks Spanish. In some regions, people also speaks another language (Catalan, Basque, Galician...), but there's an official language in the whole country that absolutely everybody knows.
Infogrames should work on a correct translation... Anything but that it's making of a game a ridiculous game in that country (Spain, in this case).

Aren't there 3 official languages in Spain.
Catalan, Basque and Spanish?

And that messup with Ciudad Unidad es muy horrible

And the formatting in the bottom left is disgusting

As with the upper right.

-
Perhaps it is Firaxis' fault as well, they may have to program larger boxes.... although on closer inspection, if they formatted things a bit to la izquierda or la derecha (left or right), they would fit.

A muy peor job
