Multiple maps (like Test of Time)
I suppose it wouldn't be too hard to implement multiple maps into Play the World.

The game can use several maps, instead of just one, each with different terrain sets. Some units can move between them all the time, some just to certain maps, some not at all, or some only on squares with certain terrain improvements.

They made Test of Time a lot more fun!

I never finnished a game of ToT, it didn't make Civ2 any better, and I was pretty much tired of Civ2 as I tried it...

I think that they should allow them if it is possible, because multiple maps would allow a lot of new scenarios.

At least a realistic additional map should be in - the map of the planet headed to by the spaceship. I liked to keep on playing on the alien-planet against the alien-nation. A positiv continueing. The under-water-world I enjoyed too. I prefer it to the ctp-solution where just the see-fields are additionally used.

Just again a matter of opinion:

I never used the different maps in ToT and kept playing the original version of CivII, just enjoying the new unit animations.

But if they made a button to chose either multiple-map or single-map game for CivIII, I wouldn't be too unhappy...

I liked the 4 map levels in ToT, and would like them in Civ3.
I thought it added a lot to the game, but they would need to be fixed. I could explore 4 maps simultaneously with one unit, every space moved, I would jump maps. Which is quite tedious, but there should be some movement cost incurred.

but yes, I do want the maps.

esp. with 24 or 31 civs. 7 or 8 per map. wow, talk about interesting and fun.

In ToT, you could move between maps without using up any movement points. Maybe in Civ3, moving between maps should use up a certain number of movement points depending on the maps you are moving to and from.

For instance, in the Fantasy game of ToT, moving between the surface and underworld would use up more movement points than between the surface and undersea.

There was a bit of discussion about this a while ago, and the only extra map I thought would really add to the game would be a moon map. You launch stuff there, and build colonies for research, and even send up special moon soldiers if you want to fight. The best thing would be a "Laser" on the moon, turning it into a "Death Star" . . .

There should then maybe some specific map units/buildings, so that walking on the moon with the horsemen isn't possible, while you can have special moon soldiers... Building the aqueduct isn't possible on the moon either...
