Personally I think diplo guiding is very dubious. I can tell you for a fact that diplos do NOT lead huge armies through the front line.

About the closest any diplo would get to the front line is that point just before where ice for the GandT's is no longer available. Trust me on that

Civ is not a perfect real world analogy.

It is a representation combining sensible game play elements. Generally diplo guiding is allowed, althopugh not in Rah Rules I think so I'm easy either way.

Any other rules for this game before we proceed?

Unit bribe?

Nothing specific was agreed at the beginning but I'll accept anything the majority want.

Yeah right

I don't play in games where there's city or unit bribe so if there is a vote in favour of either of those, I quit.

I'm agnostic on diplo guiding. I think its a crock but I know makeo likes it

I've always assumed no city or unit bribe was a house rule.

Couldn't agree more on diplo guiding.

It is a house rule amongst the regulars but as you know D is making a welcome special guest appearance so I thought we should get that one clear.

makeo and I played our duel last night. He sunk a lot of my ships with his lighthouse advantage but I have lots more coming his way.

Yeah, sorry, I forgot we had a guest in the game. He's very adept at English for his time zone, don't you think?

Ha Ha!

I'm not a guest, I'm a founding member!!

I thought you agreed with unit bribe fin?

But it is a bit dumb, I agree. So play on with AHouse Rules ... No city OR Unit bribe, that it?

We voted to expel you during one of your extended absences. You've been allowed back in on a trial basis.

I always opposed city bribe, I was ambivalent about unit bribe, but I've come to decide that it's silly. Part of my overall problem with the power of the diplo in the game. There is, for example, absolutely no defence against a poultice of diplos swarming into a city and industrially sabotaging until they knock down the walls. Yes yes, you say, kill them before they get there or somesuch, but I think it's just a loophole in the game.

That's only because they like to use it.

I played in a game with Deity's b*llshit "no trading" rule in force. That guy really really knows how to slow down a game.

We need to keep it going. I think Hydey is only free on Fri nights but not Sats? Play the 4 way on Sats?

I might be around Friday - I'm just not promising anything.

Why do you want to play the 4 way anymore anyway? I think the last session was decisive and makeo has won it already

You must be joking AH?

It's not like you to jump to these conclusions. It was clear in the first session that Makeo's island advantage would be a challenge with his mega trading but there's always a way. I'm on Steel next turn, Auto in a few turns... with my next growth surge on the way... Makeo and I are pretty equal on pg/techs/cities/gnp and my army is far superior with Leo, 69 modern units plus many Engineers.

This game has far to go - think strategy...

You probably should have left a couple of blank spaces in there to accommodate the ones you nick from Horse.

Hey Hydey - got the local Jim's mowing guy to do my lawn today. He charged me for 4 lawns ($55) but did a nice job - not too short, no clippings, he even did the edges.
